penalty or killing touch ?

I would hope, that this change was not at all intended to be a deterrent for mp4s near the cap from becoming mp5, but that is the effect currently, and for just the reasons Kamate and others have said. Being a convenient target is not a good goal.

mp4s moving up to mp5 have always been easy targets. There is no arguing that, it's simply true. Human nature, particularly when you can be anonymous (ie. the internet), causes people to do whatever gives them the most gain for the least amount of work. This change actually makes the benefit of attacking a new mp5 less than it was before, because more of the mp5s will be close to balance. Where before, only the new mp5s were close to balance and hence offered the greatest experience gain from the bonus of high honour wins.

You also realize that previous to this change, when an mp4 moved up to mp5 they would spend a week or weeks BEGGING people to attack them, so they could get enough losses to not have their honour destroyed each time they attacked someone.

The change isn't perfect, but it's a step in the right direction. The more balanced mp5 as a whole is, the less of a drastic change it will be for mp4's moving up.

Now we have a chance to kill the "Stat Gods" all rituals have a counter, so this may be a chance to some to cause chaos, others to restore order to the weaker not clever enough to find their own way, and to balance for those who can hold their own against most if not all..

Also, with this we can kill Mur's insane stats >:(

if you ignore the existence of tokens altogether (or if you are faster at amassing exp than said stat gods): yeah, than you could do exactly that

[edit: including the name of the person i quote breaks the quote feature now? odd...]
