I will pay 2 gc to anyone who can get Dragual Monarth to stop trying to kill my baby.

You must submit proof (like a chat log or such) that he has agreed to let the baby live.

If I manage to resolve the issue before anyone else, the quest shall be null and void.

There can only be one winner, the first to submit proof.

Princess Katt

P.S. He has just made another attempt, but this one will fail if I can get help in time.

Edit: With Axel's post, the winner now gets 3 gold, 20 silver.

I gave you the leash because it was yours. I never thought you would be stupid enough to give to anyone. And now there is a QUEST on whether or not a BABY will be killed? There is enough of that crap going on in REAL Life that it doesn't need to be going on in Magic Duel. Looks like I am leaving this game just in the nick of time.

I also add a gold coin plus twenty silver to Princess Katt's offer. As well I would also like to add that I am not surprised that a necrovion like him would stoop so low. Great job Dragual, it would be fun to do battle with you but alas you are too weak. Seriously now, killing unborn children now? Are you so weak? Tsk, tsk.

How about a button to activate all the vote links, for the people who want all at once? Hitting each of the buttons seperately, and always waiting for the refresh, takes lots of time and nerves, which i'd rather waste in chat than on the free creds page

I love RP quests where you have to interact and at times try and convince people to aid you. It makes you get involved with the community and meet other people you might not normally meet.
I also enjoy puzzle type quests. Putting together pieces, oraginzing facts, using logic to decypher what the pieces represent instead of what they say or do.
I do agree that drawing/writing quests are not that enjoyable. However alot of people do like those and they are good "filler" quests. Little quests with little rewards. Drawing/writing something shouldn't be rewarded heavily and shouldn't be made too difficult.
I HATE, and i mean HATE de-cyphering quests. They prove of little value and most all types of cyphers are found easily enough online. Pretty much you find the web page, insert the cypher and boom done.

No, I only mentioned Einstein because Feynman worked on quantum electrodynamics and in Einsteins case this was the reason that drove him to the theosophy. In fact I was very pleased with your answer, because you let someone speak who didn't say he had all the scientific answers to everything. What most people don't know is that theosophy is no religion, but a mixture of religion, science and philosophy.

The Treasure Keepers have decided to hold a Bettingfest(not sure what else to call it)

Basically,

You choose one of the three possibilities (Team I. Team II, Team III).
You place a silver/higher amount for that team to win.
Once they win, you will get an equal portion in relation to your bid of the jackpot.
So, if ten people bid 1g on Team A to win, and the jackpot is 100 gold. Each of you will get 10g.

I will not be taking any share of the winnings, what so ever. The TKs have a bid, but all winnings will be put into the TK Treasury. All silver/gold collected will be distributed amongst the winners. (In the case of any left over winnings, they will be put into the TK Treasury.)

TKs will put 1g on each of the Teams.

Teams and participants can be found here:

Team I:

Fyrd Argentus
dst
AmberRune
gonzalocsdf
*MasterB*
Lone Wolf
Rannel
Fenrar
tom Pouce

Team II:

Maebius
*Shadowseeker*
Tarquinus
darkraptor
Soothing Sands
*MRAlyon*
redneck
The Warrior
Jubelee

Team III:

Chewett
apophys
Brulant
tal
*Clock Master*
Ivorak
Nimrodel
Valldore Nal
Phantom Orchid
lashtal

You can bid either through Forum PM, IG PM, or at the treasury email address.

When you bid, please tell me which team you are bidding for.

I will also be collecting all bids immediately, so that the winnings may be distributed immediately as well.

In my opinion, revival should not require any silver/gold cost to the dead player. Because he/she didn't choose to die, and could not protect against it.

The cost of revival should be solely a cost of time and effort, and should be guaranteed to work if that time and effort is expended. A community effort to revive someone should be available as a shortcut, but there should be some way to guarantee a revive without anyone's help, for example, a dead person can automatically revive and respawn at the paper cabin after a month, with all creatures drained of vitality. Or it could be done via illusions.

Of course, a person may choose to get a quick fix and buy the use of a revival item, but this should not be a strict requirement to revive.

Hm... If it is artificial, then it is not real, correct? It would not truly be alive and therefore would simply be an everlasting presence with no real life.
Then where does the limit between real and artificial exist?
For example, if you grew a fetus in a completely artificial environment, starting with a genetically modified egg, would it be alive to you? Or a brain removed from a body and kept permanently functioning, with an electronic input & output? What about a biological-based consciousness perfectly copied into an electronic medium? Or an artificially created electronic consciousness? (I assume that these will eventually be feasible, in a couple hundred years.)

Is a different base material and process of creation really that important, if both express intelligence, emotion, and self-awareness?

I personally would consider all of the above alive, and would consider them to have a right to basic human rights.

Now then, to totally screw with your mind - which of the above, in your opinion, would have a "spirit" and a "soul", and why?

I strongly recommend that a byproduct resource, the most appropriate of which is Syntropic Dust, is used in the recipe, because it requires at least 2 people cooperating to harvest any sizable amounts of it.

Also, I like the idea of golden apples being used to revive. (and no, this is not a link to the Minecraft golden apple. )

I have found a poem that seems like it can get your creative juices flowing here:

“ Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun. "
—W. B. Yeats, The Wind Among the Reeds

I propose that an ultimate revival consumable (ambrosia?) require as two of its ingredients an apple harvested during a Day of Tranquility on a 12th of a month and an apple harvested on a 24th of a month. The resulting consumable should be usable at any time, and should give an effect to someone not dead using it - 45 minute meditation on life, maybe?

Giving the tree X water could cause it to grow X/10 apples the next day. A basic apple should be edible with minor effects.

Is it right for a killer to walk away freely? Of course not. But of course, there is the matter of: what can we do to punish the killer? The system is obviously quite unbalanced. The people with the killing and reviving items are the most powerful people around. With a few exceptions, these people tend to be greedy. If a person wants to kill another person, they merely follow them around and wait for them to stay still long enough for the item to be used. There's no way to stop them, except making sure never to go idle or to stay in the same scene as the person who's trying to kill you for more than a few seconds. Which is, of course, extremely difficult to do. The only person with a revival item that is willing to use it charges an outrageous fee. There shouldn't be any fee, but those of us who share that view aren't the ones with the revival items. The necessary balance simply does not exist, because of this, which is why the revival fruit is a good idea. We need a way to make it possible for anybody who is killed to get revived.

Post your offers here.
Bidding ends June 29 11:59:59PM (GMT+8) or 24 hours from the last bid of a lot, which ever comes first.
*Total price is rounded up to the nearest whole number.

Update:
Maybe this will make things clear:
1. If you want to buy everything except lot #15 (with the total of 30.32 SC) for 31 SC.
2. If you bid 11SC (which is the total of everything from lot #1 to lot #15) and no one else bids after yours, then everything will be sold to you by the end of the auction.
3. However, in the case where there are individual and bulk bid containing the same lot, it's up my jurisdiction to whom I'll sell the lot/s.

Hope this makes it clear
I like to make complicated things

PS: 0 SC is acceptable for those without Min Bid

Update 2:
Lots #9 and #10 are bought at buy now price.

Chewett, I've gotten over 30 pms from players stating what I did was the right thing.

It's amazing how long it is taking the community to revive it's beloved Wookie.

Perhaps you aren't as well liked as I thought.

Perhaps I should have killed Grido, or Handy? O.o

My efforts to create a revival item (wielded by me since I do trust myself) have morphed and merged with the general outcry from the community for a path to revival open to everyone, not just the rich.

I had thought I was making just one more of something that already existed 8x over, but if such importance is to be placed on my bodhran that ITC back-up is insufficient, then I will gladly allow my drum (or whatever key item we make) to become a "boomerang" item that keeps on returning -- but only if this can be set up to put the item into the hands of people we trust to use it, and not just sit on it.

Better yet -- make the cauldron item the permanently fixed-position apple tree in the community garden. Feed it with resources, and bingo, you're in business. Anybody.

As to how easy it will be to get revived, I fear we have just seen the tip of the iceberg in terms of deaths. If we only generate 4 revives a year, and we have even a half-dozen deaths, there will be competition for who gets the next revive. i think we will be seeing many, many "deaths" and will be needing strong medicine to counteract that.

p.s. I would guess Eon wanted a revive item so that he himself could not be killed permanently, wouldn't you suppose? He might have a hard time winning popular community support, eh? And could be a logical target for an assassin's knife....
