Kingship Of Loreroot
Amoran Kalamanira Kol and 2 others reacted to Tarquinus for a topic
I was a king once, in another world, a long, long time ago. It did not end well. While some would like to see me as King of Loreroot, I have no wish whatsoever to be. Since that is the case, I would like to discuss those who have announced their candidacy. Firsanthalas: The leader of the Guardians of the Root alliance, Firsanthalas is one of the most senior (by age, as MagicDuel reckons it) citizens of Loreroot. While he is fallible, as is any other human being, I find him to be easygoing in general, careful in his actions more often than not, patient, and fair. I pledged3 points -
i can only say that i love the game iam not that old and stil feel like a newbee at most but i have the utmost respect for you M this ruling is costing you dearly (time, frustraition, money) and i can understand that you want it automated. Kyphis the Bard reacted to Grido for a topic
Right, well reading through both the voting for the Necrovion king/queen elections, and that of the king of golemus, it has come to my attention that the majority of players cannot structure arguments or debates, either that or you dont know how to find appropriate things to argue about. So I have decided to (try and) teach those willing to learn. I will not be telling someone how to vote or which way to argue, and so to avoid any complaints of such, I will use random real life examples for the issues to argue in favour and against about. I want to first see how many people are interested1 point -
Here is my torturing procedure. First, the is subject wearing a hanford underwear, imprisoned in the cell while having this infernal blindfold on: The Infernal Blindfold -Makes the subject hear the screams of the damned (Note: For believers, you do have a choice for your curiosity.Torment it's the last 19 seconds) -The fear that the subject feels, hears, and sees will not fade away -The subject is unable to remove it, it will stay on him until his death -Keeping him1 point

first Tarquinus, I started playing actively in January, joined the Savelites Church as mp3 in February, and devoted this whole time to the Church and Loreroot, so if this 10 months makes me young in Loreroot, very well then yes Yrthilian, I don't forget invading Loreroot lands for such idiotic excuses made public, and I never will, not like some, now I am for peaceful co-existance, but I will not forget my temper lead me towards where I am, if there weren't for my willingness and, if I may call it, patriotism, I wouldn't get here I think, no, I know(!) that Loreroot NEEDS someone like me,1 point -
Kamisha For King Of Loreroot
Watcher reacted to The Truthspeaker for a topic
Wow, i didnt know MD was full of heartless bastards Really now, I support this guy because he has stood up for something that he believes in, He knows the odds are against him yet you all act like he has no chance. He has a lower chance than someone who has played MD for longer but still has a chance @Kamisha - Please dont listen to these guys, im really sorry about them, They are what is typically wrong about MD, They ASSUME, and assume wrongly that a newer person cannot do as well as an older person. I personally prefere you to be voted King more than Sagewoman, no matter how many active1 point -
Kingship Of Loreroot
Amoran Kalamanira Kol reacted to Udgard for a topic
Here is my opinion on the candidacy for Loreroot. Having stayed in Loreroot almost all my life, I've known the three alliance leaders of Loreroot, and I would say that they are the best candidates for kingship. All three of them, Tarquinus, Firsanthalas, and Princ Rhaegar has shown that they have leadership qualities and managed to run their alliance well. When it comes to choosing between them, my first choice would be Tarquinus, as he has the longest experience in leading an alliance, and one of the earliest members of Loreroot's old high council. Alas, he has stated that he doesn't want1 point -

There has been some talk of public debate. I just want to say I won't engage in a debate of such kind. Not because I fear it or have something to hide, but because in my opinion they don't work. They ramble on for hours and when you have lots of candidates and an audience its impossible to really get through it. I believe that there are perhaps another 2 people that have put themselves forward, so the number of candidates may be closer to 6 in number. In the real world you can have a debate for an hour or whatever and get though quite a lot, but I feel this doesn't hold through in MD and debat1 point -

Kamisha For King Of Loreroot
Liberty4life reacted to pamplemousse for a topic
Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but Loreroot has a lot more to offer than just trees...so, your argument that: Kamisha hates Bob, Bob is a tree, Loreroot is filled with trees=Kamisha hates Loreroot, is a little lacking. If anything, point out that he doesn't know anything about Loreroot and has no connection with the land...but the Bob thing is wearing thin.1 point -

Mur, I must apologize. I feel that I have failed you. I do not think I am the only one to have done so, but I can only accept blame for my own failings. This Festival of Pain has been eye-opening for me. Things must change, and you are, as always, taking the burden of catalyst for change on your own shoulders. I can only offer a hope for things to get better: that I will improve as a player, and that MagicDuel will grow stronger as a community... in large part, because of what you have done. And I can offer my gratitude. I thank you, Mur, for an extraordinary year.1 point -

I think teaching people how to analyze an argument might work better first. I'd rather not have a bunch of people voting on something for some ridiculous and pointless reason learn how to BS their way to a reasonable score. Though, learning how to argue will help them analyze arguments I suppose. Edit: Perhaps ethics in argument should be included as well? Though that will likely not stick.1 point -

This should be interesting, both to teach and to learn. I consider myself well versed in logic, but you cannot teach debate without explaining the difference between a logical argument and a persuasion. As an example, I'll dissect a part of a post I once made in the central market debate:
5. banking I thought MD was going to have a primitive economy? What's next, stock options in Kafuuka Milling Inc? Does anyone want to start selling those and give me the proceeds?
The first sentence contains half the argument, which if you write it out goes: - premise 1. MD is suppose1 point -

Can you (and i'll edit into my first post asking others to as well) send me a for argument, and also an against argument on a single topic of your choice (doesnt have to be very long, just to show you can argue a point), whatever method you find that's easiest to send it to me.1 point -
Submission As Queen Of Loreroot
Metal Bunny reacted to SageWoman for a topic
I am Sagewoman, Elder and protector of the forest of Loreroot. It is my intention to become the First Queen of this Sacred Forest and her Peoples. As an MP4 I was invited to join the Guardians of the Root during Nelya Setesh’s Leadership. When Raven took over for Nelya in her absence after I evolved to Mp5, I was voted and invited to join the now defunct High Council. During Amoran’s Leadership I learned hard lessons about loyalty to friends and loyalty to ones Land. Of these three Leaderships, I am one of the one of the few remaining Guardians of the Root. Ok here is my opinion If you deem it worthy enough to be read Firs is a persional friend of mine as you all know so yes i am a bit biast in this matter but i will do my best to show my argument in as best a light as i can. I would agree the the 2 top players int he list about are at this point the best choices for king/archon/whatever the title is to be. But i will say that my first choic would be for Firs. This is NOT because we are RL friends. This is because in every way Firs looks at his choices and meassures the situation carefully. He also has great care for the land and its0 points -
You are fit, everyone is, but the fact that you don't have enough experience and doesn't have much reputation and un-heard makes you not fitting to be a King, and yes, you haven't proven something really astonishing. You must work your way up and raise all of your reputation and stuffs and be known first before considering yourself to what you wish about your character. Since you are a Bob hater, why don't you join my guild? I'll make you the leader if you want to, since you did some awful stuff to Bob before. Yes, you deserve to be a leader of the guild. I would say the logic is closer to this actually: John wants to destroy this Misubishi, To us Mishubishis on the whole are a valuable part of the car industry we are a part of, Someone who will manage the car industry well should therefore not be going around destroying any Misubishis. Its counter-intuitive to happily give the responsibility of managing something, to someone who has in the past proven that they want to destroy something associated with it. It's a bit like saying...lets give the management of the cattery to this young man who once drowned one cat in a bag instead of someone-1 points -
I may be running against her but I actually like this it fits in terms almost the same as mine except she has a decent amount of experience. If I am to lose which is likely I think I would prefer sage to win as appose to somebody else. I wish you good luck and may the best candidate win.
