1. personally i dont care what my rep is, sure it's nice for it to be i think 14 atm, but still i really dont care, seriously, everyone that reads this, Please vote this post negatively, in fact go search any posts of mine and vote them neg as well Sage, if you dont like the neg rating, make a good post, or reply to something with a good post, then you'll get positive votes on your posts and not be in the neg anymore, Chew has told you why you have the neg, so post good things If you think back to school, if someone gets a bad grade and they dont like it, what do they do? they work harder and try for a better grade next time

  2. I do not know who is marking my profile with bad reputation but I want a stop to it. I have not been posting on the Forums that much do to moving and when I put a friendly complaint in my status message, it went from -9 to -10. My profile is about me and my character. I do not flame anyone and most of my postings are done with humor. The Forum is for expressing ideas and opinions and I do not believe players have to be given a reputation rating because someone does not like what they wrote. The Forum is for sharing ideas, projects, quests and even disagreements. Freedom of Speech is being violated here. No where on my profile does it say WHY the reputation has been marked and by whom. I believe this has become an abusive ability of Moderators and respectfully ask that the negative reputation be removed. Personal feelings and egos should have no place in the Forum.
1)Exactly! Rep is a way for the users to express their feelings anonymously (it's their right - that's why we have secret votes and such). So denying it would be a violation of other freedoms. 2)That's the hole purpose. 3)Are you kidding me? What in the world have mods to do with YOUR reputation? Do you think we chase you all over the forum and give you negative points? Shish... 4)The forum is exactly the place to display your ego. In game you cannot do it cause of the limited interaction. But forum is the place to show your ideas (as you have said). And ideas cannot be presented blunt..without the touch of each one's personality. In this way you show part of who you are (moreover:we do not RP on the forum) and this game is full of players with big egos.

  6. The lessons for the Sparring Grounds. I will copy extracts/modified versions from other people, giving them credit, to have one big topic. Those without credits are those I wrote myself. The most basic part: (Takes little time to go through) Have creatures. Recruit them, find out where and get some. You can check yours at the left side: If they are dead or have lower energy than max, you can click on that yellow button to heal them if you have enough Vital Energy. Costs 1 AP for 1 click. Main Abilities you need to know of: Any sort of Damage (Damage, Haotic damage, Random Damage) Lifesteal Weaken With these you can go out and fight. However, make sure your ritual has AT LEAST 301 Energy in it, the sum of all creatures in it. Or else it turns random. Advanced Lesson: (Takes time to go through but has lots of information, however read the Basics first) Step 1 to 3, all in one topic: (Important!!!) Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Credit to No One and Dst. Step 4: Healing rituals To do this, put all your healers in the ritual and the attacking creatures that can be set to not hurt the person helping you. There are some creatures you can set from attack to weaken defense (usually only available at lvl 2 or higher for the creature). Do this. then get someone to attack you with a single barren soul and something that deals no damage. This will help to heal your creatures faster. but be warned - for this method you will get either a win or a loss - and possible honor loss as well. be sure that this is the step you want to take before you decide to use it. Example: You set up a ritual as your defense along with another attacking player, as it takes 2 to make a healing ritual. You can use Heretic archers level 1 (be sure to take them off of attack mode). Set the archers to weaken defence and any other creatures you use in the ritural need to be not able to cause damage in the fight. And of course a Healer (Barren soul or others) has to be used in the ritual if you need to heal. If the attacker wants to heal, he has to have one, same for the defender. Easiest is if both have one. At later stages you will discover more Healers. Don't ever use a barren soul by themselves because for the ritual to work you need a creature with 301 or greater VE, remember the 301 rule (each ritual must have at least 301 VE or a ritual will be assigned automatically. A maxed out Barren Soul is 300 VE , so defending or attacking with him alone will cause the game to automatically set your creatures at a random mode of attack. Both players get healed creatures. Each player gets healing from their own healers, the player doing the most healing is given a win. Credits to Actraiser and King Bull. Step 5: Creatures From The Aramory and from Wind's Crossing: There's several you can find, and many are useful. Sometimes even those from the start can be good, so why not recruit a few of each and leveling them by yourself, seeing which helps you most? And do not be scared of high requirements, these usually point out more powerful creatures. Step 6: General Layout of Rituals This is about what you should use in your rituals and what not, but again these are suggestions. If you have high stats compared to others you can set Single Creature rituals, or two creatures. When giving them all your stats they become very powerful: But this is only recommended if you can hit all. Also it can be countered in several ways, but often enough it works. Think about it, you basically can hit three different targets: Single, Multiple or All. So, assuming you have the possibility to put target all, you should do this more than multiple or single. Why is that so? Multiple are strong, yes, but if there are not enough creatures to hit they become useless. (You should know why if you followed all steps and read) And although those which target single often have higher attack, in the end a creature which does 200 dmg to one and one which does 50 to 6 are different: The overall damage is higher when using all, since many people use full rituals with 6 creatures. Sounds simple, yes? Well, often enough I see people not abandoning their single targetting creatures. One or two can be useful, but overall target all has the advantage. When it comes to Lifesteal there is no target all. So there a single targetting can be useful, since it always will work. Step 7: Suggested Rituals You may replace Heretics with Aramors, but I prefer Heretics for a good reason. However keep in mind that these are rituals limited for a special reason..the more powerful ones can be made with other things So go out explore, level new creatures until you find the one that suits you most. Weak people: 5 Heretic Archers (the higher the level the better) and 1 Elemental on weaken. Deals high damage and will help you to victories. People with some upgraded creatures: 2 Grassans, 2 Heretics, 2 Elementals. Abilities? Well, I'll leave it to you to choose after you leveled them a bit But Weaken should be included, it helps with damage. If you maxed several Grassans, you can use those instead of Heretics as well. If they are not max level, then try others. For starters you should compose your rituals of damagers and weakeners: Weaken helps dealing more damage, but you still need damge after all. As for other abilities, you should know them by now, and auras: These are unlocked during later stages, when you get rarer creatures and level them up, combine them with what you know so far of combat. Step 8: Effective Raising Your exp is limited strongly, while in mp5 there is a way to lower your profile exp again. Now, what to do? You should mainly fight with those creatures you wish to level later. Lower damage equals less experience, but also less stat gains..however those can be neglected for mp3, because you cannot use heat. For mp4 I may recommend to fight some high exp battles, using high heat gives more bonuses as well. Be careful when putting lifesteal or damage into your defense ritual: If any of the creatures survive on your side you can gain profile exp, if all lose nothing happens. Same goes for attack, check the vital energy and creature energy of those you attack first. Often you get more exp than wins, and there are 0 exp wins you can use. This adds more wins only, so that your cap will not move closer. Step 9: Honor -500 is the limit of negative Honor, so you won't gain anything except the personal win/loss count from your fight. Why is that important : When you gain too many wins, it will be very hard to find a player with a positive honor reward to fight for, and you'll be giving anyone a lot of possitive honor reward, in other words..you'll be a mass target for other player everywhere and everytime. Suggestion : - Keep the Honor positive by balancing your wins and losses (Sword & Sheath). - If you have to reach a high negative honor but you need some wins or Exp, set ur Winning / Best ritual on defense, and try to stay in the place that you believe you'll win, let them attack you and always check ur creature vitality so they'll always be in full health, that way you'll never gain honor but still gain the win count and the exp. You should still balance yourself afterwards though. Credits to Poppi Chullo.

  9. I think SageWoman has a point. Reputations are important to one's psychy. Anyone who thinks they don't have an ego, must think again. We all have egos that need to be stroked...it is human nature. "Power corrupts. Absolute power, corrupts absolutely." I do not know if this is a cultural difference in what one perceives as an ego. One person thrives on negativity, the other does not. What other people think of us does indeed matter, no matter what we say to the contrary. Some egos bruise easily, others are not bruised as easily as others. Just some food for thought.

  14. There is also the cyclic theory of the universe, the universe is expanding and will at a point stop expanding and start to shrink again(The Big Crunch), ending the current universe, when the universe has shrunk to a point The Big Bang will happen again and a new one will be created. I could go on about the other ~7 but it's easier just to direct you here.

    Phantasm's Question
What could possibly cause the universe to end? There is no end, only a beginning. And what the beginning was or what came after is all speculation at this point. You can debate it all you want but you're not goint to figure it out.
Research subjects thoroughly before you spout off nonsense. There are several theoretical ends to the universe. The first that comes to mind is a concept referred to as the "heat death of the universe," where the universe reaches a maximum state of entropy. There is no movement. There is no altering from one state to another. Without the movement or exchanging of energy, or "work," in another word, life is impossible. That is but one end to the universe. You would do well to think more before you speak at all.

    Question Contest

actually, it's not so much about being unhappy or bored, but rather about having enough time for sex... while people are absorbed with working and raising their wealth, most of them are not taking the time for each other (lest you count the people under 25 in, too, but most of those are not doing it for reproductive reasons...), but when they have no job to attend, see little work in close future, and a glimpse of silver on the horizon, they will go and make babies, raise them during the depression, and once they need more than food and clothing, the parents expect to have a job again anyway... it's no coincidence that humans are programmed to have spring-feelings, babies born in winter could feed of milk during winter and were kept safe and close to a fire, while babies born in summer often died in their first winter because the had no extra defendance provided by mothers milk anymore... the same system also works with the economical cycle to a certain extent, people will raise children in good times, but for raising them in good times, they need to make them in bad times, that's nature's code

  17. I see a lot here about having alts to place tokens and gain age being fine. Frankly it's not, it's against the rules to make alts for the purpose of supporting your main. Do I think banning alts is a good idea? No. Discouraging alts whose only purpose is to support the main by gaining free credits in the shop and aging critters? Yes. In fact, alts that just gain free credits to place tokens and trade over shop critters and or items I would like to ban, is it hard? Yes. Impossible? No, but certainly hard enough to not necessarily be worth it. But Fenrir is right, those sorts of alts should at least be discouraged. You people sound like I should be doing this. I've been working hard to get my Ve as hard as it is. (All my Vp came from heads and labyrinth, couldn't care less about Vp and have never tried to raise it.) It annoys me that in about 20 or so days there will be people running around with insane Ve, and in 80 anyone willing to age critters on an alt will have insane Ve. It also annoys me when people are running around with 5 BPs that they got from the shop or similar things. But hey, if the decision that alt abuse in this manner is fine, I'll go for it, of course I'm behind on the matter, but hopefully I will catch up. Edit: As for coding solutions, perhaps it would be simple enough to monitor trades from characters with a certain amount of credits to activity ratio. Activity being measured in time spent online, or battles, or chat, or some sort of thing. Most everyone does free credits, not everyone fights much, so sure, that's an issue. Also, if I was willing to spend the WP I am relatively sure I could get a alt to MP5 in a day if I used an aged critter from another alt.

  18. Ya, I agree with that one, the trading should be monitored more closely, because an mp3 with a drachorn or something isnt fair.

  19. Aken, topic is dead. Alts are okay if they are used properly, but as the recent news log shows, they are not. Atleast by some. If we were to just ban the trading of creatures from alternate characters that would be fine by me. Any ideas anyone?

  20. me thinks that Sage's rep suffered under the BloodPrinc issue, and that Fenrir is constantly posthunting with either useless or off-topic posts, in worst case both, and deserves all the rep people give him... i like the system, though i don't think it's necessary to store an overall-reputation on the profile (it's fun to look for people's overall rep sometimes, but eh, not really that interesting)... i like it more that i can see how other people judged a specific post, to see whether people in general think it makes sense, it's a good read, it's a nice point... of course depending on what the topic is about and it's a nice tool to 'punish' crappy posts or things you just wholeheartedly don't agree on/dislike/think to be stupid, and it reveals quite a lot about what people think of a topic, even when you can't see who gave that rep... me likes in general, but thinks the overall counter is more of a toy than a feature

    Phantasm's Question
E=MC^2. Einstein was showing that mass and energy are indeed convertible, as you've said. However, though I've never heard this mentioned in any class, I don't believe it's possible to have energy without mass. Those particles you mentioned have kinetic energy because it is mass moving.
It is possible to have energy without invariant mass: electromagnetic waves have zero invariant mass. (Visible light is nothing but electromagnetic waves with wavelengths within the range we call the visual spectrum.) The way relativity works anything that moves at light speed must have zero invariant mass and cannot be slowed down (in vacuum), while nothing that has an invariant mass greater than zero can be accelerated to the speed of light.
actually just remembered something, and i'm skipping over most of the points here, because well my head is being lazy atm, and my typing fingers hurt. In a complete vacuum, some particle which i cant remember the name of, and it's anti-self appear and then destroy each other, meaning that something can come out of nothing, but just to clarify, and i'm not sure how this works, but the particle can ONLY appear on the condition that it will be annihilated momentarily later, so cant be sustained.
Quantum mechanics allow the laws of physics to be ignored for times that are smaller than can be detected. (Heisenberg uncertainty formula, which is of the form: delta E * delta t <= Planck's constant) A practical use of this is scanning tunneling microscopy. Subatomic particle physics allows certain conversions of energy into matter and matter into other forms of matter. There a couple of invariants like in chemistry: energy (or mass, using E=mc²), momentum, angular momentum, baryon number, charge, color charge... Using those rules it is possible to list a number of decays that happen in the universe. As an example: a photon (pure energy) of 1,02 MeV can decay into a positron and an electron, which each have an invariant mass of 0,51 MeV. The positron is the anti particle of an electron and has the same amount of electrical charge, yet the opposite polarity. If a positron and an electron meet, they will annihilate and the resulting energy will be converted into photons. At CERN they accelerate positrons and electrons to high velocities, giving them a lot of energy, and then let them collide. If the total of their kinetic energy and the energy from their invariant masses is large enough, particles with higher invariant mass may be created. If you combine both of the above, then it is possible, for a very short time, that invariance of energy is ignored and a positron electron pair is created. Normally both particles are attracted to one another, meet and annihilate again within that short time ( about 4 * 10^-21 s). Such particles are called virtual particles, because they do not exist long enough for anyone to notice. In the vicinity of a black hole, it is possible for one virtual particle to fall into the black hole and the other to continue its existence outside of it, thus becoming a 'real' particle. The black hole can loose mass when anti matter that is created in such a process enters the black hole, and the equivalent mass in matter escapes from its gravitational pull. For an observer it appears as if the black hole is emitting electrons and slowly loosing mass, without any violation of energy/mass conservation. This is Hawkins' Radiation.
My 2cI disike tokens like alot of other people they are overpowering etc etc, and I dont like that if i want to compete and be strong i must buy a whole bunch of tokens and if i want them perfectly i must trade creatures to an alt one at a time and get what i want trade back then level the creature back up again. I think it would be good if tokens where one per creature max and even have them randomize whome there on daily that would be interesting. or perhaps have a have a rare creature with a token freeze aura something that negates all tokens in battle. Im not sure but I do hope that something can be changed about them because there just not working they are way overpowered and weakeneing them isnt going to do alot unless a cap is put on them because people will just grind principles.
your 2c is funny, please put more so, this is what abuse I see in your suggestion: - a randomizing token ... would mean that with the help of a few alts, one can get a complete set of same tokens on all (or just 6) creatures - only one token / creature ... would require that one can choose the token he wants or ... he can change it using the "randomizing token" lol - there are a few more ways to put caps, but .. that has already been discussed. anyway, it was fun to read, please post more

Now when that number gets to "Excessively Bad", wouldn't you be a little hot under the collar? Takes the whole fun out of posting and having a profile on the Forum. 42. Blood Princ has been banned for repeated violations in the Dojo at Marind Bell Park. Attacks were made on Staff Members, as well as other Mp5's of all types (Alliances, Guilds, Regular players). Despite Dojo Warnings sent to his Private Message as well as brandings made to his Public Log, attacks were continued to be made. After much deliberation between Chief of Staff *Ibruzu* and myself, and a consultation with Calyx of Isis via OtherRealm means, it was decided that Blood Princ would be made an example of and banned. The Dojo works because the Magic Duel community works together with the Dojo Staff and Trainees to ensure that the Marble Dell Park is a place where players of all mind powers can train with each other. This Banning is a new tool Gifted to only a select few senior members of the Dojo. This is the first time it has been used and it is the hope that this will be a deterent to other players to learn the Dojo rules and know what the consequences may be if they blatently attack players. It is our hope that this Tool will not have to be used again. Sagewoman Apprentice Dojo Mistress

  43. "Then they would ask an rpc for permission to make an alt" you're trying to kill free time RPC's have aren't you? firstly let me point out, that if this ever does happen, it won't for loooooonng time, personally i don't think it'll ever happen so you are wanting to prevent people making alts? for a moment forget i'm an rpc, now i have many alts, i don't rp with many of them, and those rarely, i use them to look at different story routes there are, for personal knowledge(not to tell or use in game), you are saying i should not be able to do this? (currently it says explicitly in the rules you're allowed to do this)

  44. Fenrir, there are many people that "wouldnt mind" to go through the logs etc what there isn't is enough people that are TRUSTED to do it, someone going through logs like that, would doubtless be able to also see various things which should be kept to themselves, unfortunately there are far too few people who meet both descriptions

    Abuse Of Silence Spell

    Question Contest

It is a natural human desire to reproduce, as we all know. This desire does not care how much money you have, it only serves to make us happy when we are not happy or when we are bored. During a depression you are both unhappy and bored. So it is logical that there is more baby making during a depression.

  50. First off, no, i will not tell you how to cast it, but everyone can, and i will delete or remove anything saying how to cast the silence spell. Lately there has been far too much abuse of this spell, and that is to stop. The intent of the spell is to silence players who are swearing/spamming/advertising other games so that they can't do it anymore, the spell is ONLY to be cast if there is NOBODY else with given abilities to deal with the matter. Such people would be LHO's or RPC's generally. And since there is usually one of those around, there isnt usually a need to ever cast the spell. Henceforth we will be employing a line of punishment for players that abuse this spell;

On the first offence, the player will be warned, telling them of what the spell is meant for.
On the second offence, the player will be warned AGAIN, and repeat what the spell is meant for.
The third offence will result in a Ban for 24 hours (1 Day).
The fourth offence will result in a Ban for 72 hours (3 Days).
The fifth offence will result in a Ban for 1 week.
The sixth offence will result in a Ban for 1 month.
The seventh offence will result in a Permanent Ban.
The offences are counted up from ALL characters played by the offending player. The punishment will be taken out on ALL characters that are played by the offending player. After all it is the player that is offending, not just the character. There are players who have accumulated 3 or more offences already, the next time they offend it will count on the scale as the forth offense, banning for 3 days. Nobody, no matter if you're friends, partners, or whatever else with someone "powerfull", nobody is exempt from this, I dont care who you are.
