WPs for AD Complaint Regarding Alts

Recommended Posts

I want to complain about alts gaining wishpoints for active days. It's just highly abusable.

I agree that mains should be rewarded somehow for their activity on the game, but not the alternate accounts.

First: This will lead to severe abuse of MD Mechanics. Alts helping mains and mains helping alts.
Exchanging WishPoints between you. WP should be rewarded only for good reasons.

That rule will be broken sooner or later.

You can have multiple accounts, to try out story, to experience new ways of play etc ..., however if you are detected that you are using them just to help one of your main accounts , all of them including the main will get banned.

This rule had been broken several times and many of those without consequences to those who broke them.

Alts can receive 3 wish points. Every player can have as many alts as they wish. So calculate the WPs and the abuses.

Example:

I BFH have movelock I cast it on x person and since I don't have mirror ritual I use my alt to cast it on x player because I hate x player or whatever.

Second: This will devalue the Wish Points.

Now people won't have to put hard work and effort to gain a WishPoint. It's easier to use an alt.

Third: Not fair

It's simply not fair for those who had earned their wishpoints with effort.

SOLUTION:

No WishPoints for any alts at all. Sorry for the alts account who really rp and plays a different character and such, but the law is for all without exceptions.

This is how I see this and please post your opinions here.

Read the original thread, this point was discussed to death again and again.
Mur has also stated before that WP's WILL be devalued and that we might not like it. i dont really see any reason to fight this point.

review the original topic, Most of the damage with alts will already be done, i know my alts are just getting them.

I agree, but at the same time, I disagree.

None of the WPs in the WP Shop that can be aquired within the first three points are anything that can be abused to the point where a new rule, or addition to game mechanics needs to be made because of them.

The only thing that could be "abused" would be the spells in the later parts of the Shop. The B/W Joker isn't going to make anyone over powered, and they aren't exactly worth much. The GG Drach > Windy WP isn't accessible to REALLY late in the shop.

This achievement will only lower the value of WPs, but at the same time, this is MAGIC DUEL. WPs shouldnt be these incredibly hard things to aquire unless you're friends with the right people.

Players should have SOME basic spells to play around with. It's the point of the game, right?

I agree with mains receiving those basic spells not alts. If alts want spells then they can use stones.

Ok, so...I am going to try and speak from both sides;

For: I see that if a member plays on more than one account, who is to say which is the main? I use many accounts for different roleplaying. People used to think Mcvitie was the main because she was the "first account" but now I reckon everyone will say that Sasha is the main, that doesn't mean I don't still play on Mcvitie. If I have been active with many accounts, then why shouldn't they get the same rewards?
What happens if one day someone wants to forget a previous account and start afresh? Then they will have to miss out for having a previous account?

Against: I can see lot's of reasons against. As you say, alts helping each other, being the main one for me to see problems with. Creating items for alts, has been a problem in the past and could easily become a major problem in the future.
Another valid point you make is that wishpoints will slowly lose their value in MD, but has that not happened already with this feature?
Another problem with this is if players create alts just to log on with each day, so that they can get the wishpoint rewards...

So in my opinion...I'm not too sure if it should, or shouldn't be changed. If I had to say anything..it would probably be stay the same, so long as there is some sort check that could be done to make sure they are not just abusing it. Perhaps a seperate WP shop for alts? Things that can only help that specific account?

Just an idea :)

So you and others can make profit from alt's wanting spell stones?

@Chew, yes it had been discussed before, but it took a year for it to be implemented and community votes were ignored somehow

Great, I imagine the libs fill out with wps and your chews the same, not to mention grido's countless alts.

Doesn't make sense at all. Not to me.

The system currently doesnt know what account is a "main" and an "alt". Nor could it ever know, as many issues will occur. Then you have to consider that if some "hypothetical" land stupidly suggested all "helping" each other by logging in and such, they all become alts, Then you have many mains and also alts, what happens then? surely by that same idea one "lucky" account would be a main, and the others would be done over.

The technical implications are VAST with this such issue. If a perfect machine that can identify alts, mains and such existed, then great, im sure Mur "Might" have considered it. But its an issue that unless you think about technically, you can easily say in ignorance "we were ignored, mur hates us all"

Well login just to gain ad for wps is what it's going to happen. That's for sure. Edited by BFH

That's for sure? How do know that? You can't say it WILL happen when no one has actually shown they are doing it.
To be honest, I think it should be left alone. As everyone has said, it's three WP's. No harm can be done with three wishes, perhaps 7-8, yes, but 3? Good luck with abusing that.

Oh..and I just thought. When you say "alts should use stones", WHO is going to provide them and WHO is going to be losing out on spells? Edited by Sasha Lilias

Nop, Mur actually considers many of us, actually sometimes too much, I don't meant that at all.

I spoke a bit with Chew regarding this

There are lots of TECH details that explains why alts can't be restricted.

Even thou I still don't agree with alts gaining wishpoints and that I assume many will abuse. Many players, including me, will be watching and ABUSES will be condemned and won't pass throw.

The topic will be closed since nothing can be done about, but If any see any abuse please send a message to contact@magicduel.com

Pipstickz, I want to give you a chance to show that you are not a mean-spirited kid with too much time on his hands, but you're making it hard on me with these inflammatory posts which you immediately have locked. I think it's time to discuss something in a calm and mature fashion: how you came to have the CoE badge and why you choose to keep it.

We, and by we I mean tankfans specifically shared it to the Loreroot Citizens forum, have a PM from Child of the Soul that seems to indicate that you plotted with him via Pipstickz, your primary MD account, or else in person through another means, and instructed him to "give control" of the CoE to your Lord Pip account. Here's my question: do you deny this? Do you deny that your only significant use of the Lord Pip account in a very long time has been to gain and keep control of the CoE?

I think the issue of alt abuse has always been a bit fuzzy, and despite my attempts to create fully fleshed-out, different personalities for each account, I have been guilty of things that are considered alt abuse. There was a recent announcement, however, (announcement 2221) clearing things up. It said, in part:
You are not allowed to use an account to aid any of your other accounts. This means you cannot sell creatures on one account to give the profit to another, nor are you allowed to trade creatures or items between your accounts.
More generally, you are not allowed to use multiple accounts to help, benefit, or otherwise influence one specific player for their gain or loss.
It seems to me that your use of the Lord Pip account violates both the spirit and the letter of the rules about alts.

I have chosen to work toward regaining the CoE badge through in-game means - when I said I thought that if we couldn't regain the badge through merit, we didn't deserve to have it, I was not merely spewing rhetoric. But I feel that I can't let your posting about why you will continue to hold the CoE badge without making any real use of it go unanswered. You surely realize you have upset people and made the game less fun for more than one person. You must be aware that your posts, particularly the second one in which you admit that Poe made this remark to you "quite some time ago", make you seem vindictive, grudge-bearing, and judgmental.

My personal inclination is to continue doing what I have been doing, which is to let you keep the badges unmolested and make no out-of-game or meta-gamed attempt to "bring you to justice" or otherwise regain the badges through out-of-game channels. But I repeat: I can't sit idly by while you make these inflammatory posts. My "followers", by which I mean my friends who play accounts that once wore the CoE badge, are beginning to think that I don't care about the things you say and have no plans to get the badges back. I am aware that not everyone is as patient or as open-minded as I am (that should scare you, eh? ). It is for my friends' sake that I write this post.

So I will ask you once more, civilly and publicly, to give the CoE badge back to the guy who worked to create the CoE and the woman who drew its badge, and let us restore the alliance to what it was. It's the decent thing to do.

      Hello all!

I wanted to bring up something I though has been a little unfair in the Heads Contest. I have been told it is unfair anyways, but hey. I thought this overstepped a little, and I wanted to bring it up. The problem I have seen is certain people, who are not in the Heads Contest, interfering with how it is running. This is mainly happening in two ways.

One, as far as I heard, people from outside the competition should not be able to take the heads of those in the competition. This has happened twice to me, and is in fact the only times I have lost heads. The first was from an attack by Eon, and then the next in one of the attacks from a group of other people. I wouldn't normally care, except that in both cases I lost all my heads. I would count this more as a bug, or perhaps a problem with BHC competitions going at the same time.

The second, and what I consider the more problematic and disturbing, is the use of certain spells and powers to influence the competition by people who are not participating. This one I have included the below screenshots for, to show proof of an event that happened today. It says in the Heads Contest page that the leaders will most probably hide, and we certainly were hiding, preserving our heads. But someone, which by the screenshots and information I have been told is most likely dst, teleported the leaders to the Gazebo of Equilibrium, where we promptly got beaten and our heads taken by people not in the competition. Beyond how this affects the scores of the people, it also artificially lengthens the competition, because we cannot advance and get to stage 2 as fast with less heads.

Here are the screenshots, with the spell, the server times, and the UID of the person who casted the spell circled (I have been told the UID is dst)

      and

What are people's opinions of this? I know many consider the competition a joke because of certain fighters not being able to fight, since they have won, but shouldn't the competition still be followed instead of playing with the competitors like this? I also thought that spells weren't even allowed. I am genuinely interested in people's opinions and if there are in fact rules that are being broken.

      Thanks for reading!

      5 stones = WP
      offering 1 stone
will sell it if the bid is high enough.
      bid away.

The following message appears increasingly in MD world. (I was used to see it on Mur only, but saw it on other players as well.)

      Enemy (xxx) ritual was forgotten
It contained creatures summoned forth from an illusion. You may retry the battle any time.

As far as I understand these defense ritual makes the holder unattackable as long as he has enough of these defense rituals set. This is highly abusable since it enables you to win any heads competition just by staying online.

      Please do something against this.
