  1. Not sure where the quote came from, but we clearly don't agree on the solution.   Please note that Fyrd himself is never mentioned in the clues.  The clues stand alone and must be separated from the background story in your mind.  Your solutions often pulled Fyrd into the puzzle.   I do wish to acknowledge that you, Dan, were the first to find all 12 clues and take a stab at the solution.  Congrats on that!
  2. I always like to find a RP explanation for manifestations and powers in the game.  Fyrd Argentus had a mental breakdown and is acting out his inner child as alt Fyrd Alyzer - which should be obvious to everybody but him, because he is in denial.  If his mental state flops back and forth, so be it.  Totally split personality.   Why did I do this? 1) I want to keep MD as a game (relief from real life), and too much karma was hanging on my head for it to be fun (same reason i dropped MP6), - which parallels Fyrd's mental breakdown nicely,  and 2) a fresh new set of clic
  3. We have a winner! Valldore Nal solved the syllogism and wrote up a nice background too. Below is his solution - spoiler warning because it shows the clues and puzzle answer, but not the password. Congratulations! [spoiler] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm going to present the various clues for references on my answer (long message again, sorry ) : All Spirits are indeed dead All who are dead have at some point died All those who have died have received a mortal assault Mortal Assaults
  4. UPDATES: 1) Only one player has said they've come close, but still needs a HINT, so here it is. The Reverend Charles Dodgson made famous a sort of puzzle called a Syllogism. This is such a puzzle. 2) I now have WISHPOINTS to award. First to complete the syllogism properly gets the first WP.
  5. USA - visiting in Colorado - as fast or faster than ever. Didn't check rituals, but the creature summary page is faster. Europe you say? Wow! [Edit - generally it seems the "connecting" phase, to find the server after an action, is longer, but once it is found the data stream back is much faster.]
  6. At 17:00 ST, a certain player [TBA later, so as to not bias any potential sponsorships] won a default victory by pointing out an error in the quest -- one clue was repeated while another was left out. This has been corrected. If you obtained a clue associated with a snake, you need to go back and get the corrected version. My apologies.
  7. Fyrd's unbalanced, his inner child is running around "discovering" all the old spirits he had awoken before his mental break-down. What to do: 1) Guess the correct way to address a spirit (clickie pswd) 2) Find all dozen and collect their clues 3) Solve the puzzle to learn the sad reason Fyrd lost it. Only includes the common areas of no-man's-land, Marind Bell, and the MD Archives (south of the gate), so everybody can participate. Just go search for clickies and guess that universal password. Hint: this form of puzzle was made famous by the guy who invented the original White Rabbit. No
  8. I've put some "beginner" guides in the forum, scroll to the bottom topics. Check those out first, then I'm happy to answer questions as I am able.
  9. Reset worked right for most of my clickie-writing career.
  10. I liked the old system.  It had no consequences, and was quite entertaining, in its own way.
  11. 5 credits   (I'm assuming if you use in-game stuff to win a bid, it can't cross over to an alt....?)   [Edit: Any way I can enter this as a standing bid, month-to-month until I get one, or withdraw the bid?  I'm expecting market price will drop over time.]
  12. Odd thing, the first password you enter on a clickie gives you the "reset" line that also tells you what password you are using. After resetting and entering any more passwords, the "reset" line never reappears - just the enter (new) password line. You can change the password used, hence the clickie code you are engaging, but the problem is, you have no feedback as to which block of clickie code you are currently viewing. I think this was an unintended change.
  13. Done. Mods please close. Thanks all.
  14. Credits are not so rare for me. I want to encourage our artistic community. Happy to pay.
  15. Looks good. I'll buy that (in avy form) for 5 cr. But I need active days to be allowed to wear one on Fyrd Alyzer.
  16. Suitable composition, but a nice drawing doesn't always convert to a nice avy.
  17. This is just one more social experiment - game within a game - in MD. Mur or his alts want to see if we can pull together cooperatively to operate at the higher steady state of herb production, or if selfish actions will tear down the effort and herb production is at the lower steady state. So he throws out the reward for cooperative game action -- higher total resource productivity -- to see if social cooperation spontaneously develops. The experimenting sadist is loving the show. Now the question really is -- is the incentive really high enough to develop a social movement/organizati
  18. I can pay with credits, but can't take custody yet. Archived or drawn. Fyrd Alyzer is looking for candidate avatars. A lost little boy type. Non-combatant. If you've ideas, please discuss.
  19. We all, always, need friends. Fyrd Alyzer is just a bit fuzzy on references to this Argentus fellow....
  20. I see nothing wrong with setting up an alt for target practise by others -- as long as the character you are putting yourself into (aka your "main") is completely divorced from it. Fyrd Argentus's body was essentially sacced to that. It's not appropriate to say "this alt is the fighting spirit of my main, reaching out from the grave...." etc. You are then taking onto yourself magic powers via alt abuse. I will face similar issues with Fyrd Argentus/Alyzer -- but I am making a clean break between the two. Argentus will remain only to administer prizes from h
  21. [size=5][font=georgia,serif][color=#4B0082]Fyrd Argentus is now verily a broken down old man. After abusing too much pickle juice and standing out in the hail at GoE for too long, his stats are now 7 out of 9 negative and his nearly impressive vitality is exhausted three times over just walking across Marind Bell. His loss-win differential matches his active days - both over a thousand. His pursuit of lost spirits has made him become one. You may see the remains of his confused and dazed spirit (Fyrd Alyzer) running around compulsively haunting, or should I say Fyrd-alyzing, a whole new cro
  22. I loaned Fang my pickle jar because he is using (at least some of) them to help new visitors to the realm and I felt guilty that I was not keeping up with demand. He ought to be able to make about 6 a day the hours he logs, where I'm making 1. I'm at 47 pickles held (yes, prizes continue), but should have been up around 75. Zzzzzzz. I'm also behind on answering PM's. It is an act of faith, appreciation for his efforts, and hopefully in the best interest of the realm. When the day comes when I ask for it back, he will have the chance to show his appreciation for my t
  23. Loaned the Pickle Jar to Fang - he'll get a lot more use out of it while I snooze.

  24. See my market post about my archer collection....? It's still available.
