Ummm... I am not a Sentinel. I have less than no respect for the shades. I keep hearing way to much unfounded and pointless BS about them to try to understand them. Like mirrors? Are they? Or do they just come in smacking everything like a hurricane? Summoned army is the King of Necro? The person-less entity without ability to tell friend from foe is the thing the Sentinels bow down to? When it attacks you and utterly leaves you defenseless you are to say, sorry sir, may I have another? Golly, now I remember why I don't like the shades and detest the idea of becoming a Sentinel.

The hardcoded fact is this, either the summoned army was attacked by Necrovions, or it wasn't. That is a fact, that is hardcoded. There is no RP involved in that, no opinion or perspective. Another fact, either it attacked first or it did not. Now if they are just supposed to bend over and take it, fine I suppose. Then they are still at fault. I guess I am not a Sentinel, have no desire to be, and will not understand how someone can give deference to a creature that couldn't care less about them and may eat them on a whim.

Fighting a war in a game with the intention of actually hurting people behind the game is incredibly childish. If that is the only way in a game to have any meaningful effect on a CHARACTER, then the game is seriously broken and needs to change.

Necrovion is a hunk of dirt, covered in something or other. Necrovion is not a reflection of the land, never has been, never will be. One could claim that the shades are, but who the heck cares about them? I have heard way to much BS about shades. I would love some actual facts on the critters, but I don't really have any. I have been told that shades bring balance, they aren't a reflection, but an opposition. Everyone in the realm is lazy and peaceful right now, there are no other warmongering alliances. It would make sense that in a time of peace Necro would try to bring about war. Of course, the Sentinels are not shades, and they are not necro, so regardless of what shades would or wouldn't do, and regadless of whether people think Necro should be thrown into a giant blast furnace to turn it into a mirror this says nothing about the Sentinels. Sure, it is kinda sad to see Khalazdad's idea come to an end, but the dynasty has ended. Jester is of no relation.

The honor system makes no sense, and taking the stat damage away and leaving the exp reward they would get would be bad. The whole system is just screwy. Getting rid of honor would get rid of stat damage, and exp reward. Simple. And no, I don't love the new achievments. I could care less, but not much less. I still haven't gotten any (wouldn't be hard, but I haven't bothered).
And again burns, if people like Lifeline or MRD or whowever just keep getting vics, they will become perm balanced and never need to give out a loss to anyone.

Oh darn, not that. Wouldn't want you to have to ask someone for 1/10th of a burst to upgrade a bird.

Anywho, I am getting sick and tired of people talking about there being a way to do ANYTHING in MD. No, no there is NOT a way to do anything. It's very flexible, there are a lot of things you can do, but new players CAN NOT, even with all the knowledge in the world, keep a vetran from turning their face into porridge. Even if we were to assume that is the case, they are new players, they should not be expected to be as knowledgeable about battles as DST and Burns or Shadowseeker, just so they don't end up with major losses. That being said, I don't think new players are having difficulties into the thousands are they? I don't think I've seen anyone who is in the stat damage area who didn't want to be there before stat damage was implemented.

We could attempt to give incentive for vets to not get losses, or, we could just get rid of the problem of having too many losses. Just get rid of balance and honor, or just get rid of balance. You could remove stat damage, at the same time go ahead and remove the bonus exp from high honor. Then there is no reason to not be balanced, players would/should work toward that, but losses aren't a big deal.

The log is not necessarily what actually happened. That shows what people said, it does not show the fights. The log shows the Summoned army claiming that the Sentinels fought against him, what actually happened is that it attacked their leader 3 times and was never attacked by a Sentinel... Very different.

It's a temple... He said he would be happy to move on when it was claimed by someone from the tribunals. (I assume he means if one of the alliances claims it.) In the meantime, it only makes sense he has an outpost in the new lands. Now sure, I think the whole concept is a bit wonky, but it's in following with the alliance and why not put the outpost in the empty temple? He is not claiming the temple as his, or for the Savelites, he is simply using it for a while.

I think teaching people how to analyze an argument might work better first. I'd rather not have a bunch of people voting on something for some ridiculous and pointless reason learn how to BS their way to a reasonable score. Though, learning how to argue will help them analyze arguments I suppose.

Edit: Perhaps ethics in argument should be included as well? Though that will likely not stick.

After hearing of Necrovion and it's peoples, I have this to say. I have not heard of any of the current nominees. Now this could be because I'm simply not active in a forum, but I definitely want to vote or elect a ruler that I know /something/ of. And for this reason amidst others I must humbly request that Lady .Peace. be included in the running. Anyone that would argue her current state of life making her ineligible I will argue personally. If she were to be a knight, then I would be her squire. I have heard some of her tales and of her life, and I see no one better suited for continuing Khalazdad's legacy than her.

the realm is boiling... u have been wondering what this is all about.
u shall not have to wait any longer. nobody dared to make his/her application public before the election and didnt wanted to face the masses and their criticism. we however are ready to face the enemy anytime. so here as promised the application for Liberty's kingship:

What was once a prosperous land with a bright future is now the twisted land of Necrovion. Deathmarrow and the Shades have tainted the land and taken it from its rightful proprietary – Ourselves. We have had enough madness and corruption in the realm! The last war in Necrovion itself has shown that very well. Such a tainting of once resourceful and sacred human lands cannot be allowed anymore. Enough with feeling helpless! Enough with feeling manipulated! Enough with feeling corrupted!
Let us turn our blade against what opposes our very nature. The pain and suffering shall end here.
Therefore I candidate for kingship of Necrovion to reclaim the land from the plague called Shades. We have all seen that shades aren’t even able to protect their own land. They failed twice not only did the Summoned Army stand no chance vs human fighters including necrovion sentinels after the war; but even a few month before it was defeated by thief’s stealing from the land. The so fearful Shade Sentinel itself could do nothing more than swear revenge and stay helpless and was only able to watch how its land got pillaged.
It is obvious that Shades are unfit and cant even reign their own land. And they corrupt everything that presents good values. We, the humans, cant allow this much longer.
Shades are useless without the humans. So I will take the necrovion alliance and cut the shades from all their supporters. Why should once peaceful and sacred lands serve as a prison for the mad? Since not too long ago we have an own prison. So all those twisted beings that support the Shades will be exiled into our own jails. Then I will tear down the wall around Necrovion and reclaim the land step by step.
If you appreciate human values and have had enough of foul creatures tormenting you and your family then join me and help restore the former prime of our civilization!

Well well well, It seems Im forced to speak up again, well done.

lets start by looking at the application of a known enemy to Necrovion and by proxy the rest of the realm given his intentions and just pure blatant stupidity and ignorance of anything related to shades and Necrovion and apparently Military affairs given the fiasco that was his last campaign.

    FACT:
Necrovion was not a once prosperous land as any indication of such was from lore which has been blatantly removed from MD for the very reason such as this as people are often to foolish to understand the actual point of it and use to base their claims and allegations.

    FACT:
The Shades are unable to protect their own land? The shades if memory serves annihilated Lib with ease and the only people who can hold their own against them are Lifeline, Eigger and Shadowseeker. The Shades are more than capable, much more than Liberty is for Marind Bell and any other land is.

    FACT:
Shades do not corrupt things, you clearly have little to no understanding of the nature of shades, and your basis seems to be from Lore which is not actually part of MD ecology.

But on that note lets talk about corruption, corruption in Marind Bell, the blatant abuse of forum admin status and other countless ones, shall I make a short list of just Lib's doings?

    -Spamming chat in 16+ locations
-personal alt abuse for the benefit of one character 30+ alts (used to become mp6 back in January) along with other numerous alt related offenses
-Verbal abuse to countless player in game
-blatant use of foul language with no regard for the rules

But then wait, no warnings OR punishments? Something clearly is not right. (also notice the mood panel the ones offering their vote to Liberty openly are the same people using his alts to train in the Fenth Cave in Golemus) Very interesting...

    FACT:
Perhaps you are blind, bad at reading or just plain stupid.. But this is from an AL event which is on hold, never take lightly the words of the Shade Sentinel, once it resumes you should know you are in for a world of pain if you haven't already given up from your blatant disgrace or banning. Keep in mind this is the very same person who Declared war blindly and then lost their OWN alliance, failing at proper leadership, a blind arrogant king? Leaving his own people to suffer and pay for his mistakes, human power INDEED.

    FACT:
It is the duty of those of Necrovion to protect the shades from people and people from the shades. Are people really so blind as to ignore ACTUAL MD history ignoring all that was sacrificed in the first war by Khalazdad a far greater man than any present here now.

    FACT:
Prision for the mad, you want to talk about madness, how about blindly sending your people to war before knowing all the facts then abandoning them. Great leadership qualities. Or rather having claims and allegations which no facts in which to back it up or even better claiming to know things to which you only state now which would have saved you much grief as well as those under your command and GG your ally wouldn't have had to suffer.

    FACT:
If you appreciate human values and have had enough of foul creatures tormenting you and your family then join me and help restore the former prime of our civilization? Your are a moron if you believe this, the Shades were here before us, and will be here after us, war on the shades would destroy the realm that is what the KING OF NECROVION is to prevent not instigate.

Kingship is a duty to its peoples and its land, you Liberty clearly posses none of these qualities and this merely is another claim for power a self serving claim as it shows from you record you have little to no regard for your peers, people and allies.

Well done Liberty you've gone all in with a pair of twos.

Another note, for those applying for kingship, this is a perfect test to which none have taken a stand up against, I have been gone all day and yet I am back for a short amount of time and already have done more than you to stand against this insult. Bravo.

Simple fact of the matter is this, the Summoned army either attacked Sentinels first, or the Sentinels attacked the Shade Sentinel first. This is FACT, there is no RP involved, it is hard coded, no one saying one thing or the other will ever make it different than what it was. Clearly someone is either lying or mistaken in some way. I am not saying I have any idea who that person is, but that is the simple fact of the matter. In this case Mur saying it happened some way doesn't matter. It either did happen or didn't. In terms of story, sure, we can say that what Mur says goes, and people who did not attack the Seummoned Army's and were rightly confused by the actions of the summoned army are going to have to attempt to some how justify it with their character that they were not confused, as that is not what happened.

Now note, I am not saying the Summoned army was not attacked first, but since it wasn't RPed at all, those spectating simply assumed that the Summoned army started attacking them without cause. They had no way to know that someone else had actually already given the summoned army reason to believe that they were all against it. So here's the issue. RP wise, the summoned army had right to attack all the sentinels, but RL wise, since no one could see what was going on, they all had a right to think that it was their enemy and attempt to defend. That's simply the way things are. You can go ahead and claim that it's all some ploy to make themselves look better, but fact of the matter is this, everyone gathered there thought the Summoned army was working against them, and they had reason to.

And I am relatively proud to say that I have never attempted to suck up to you Mur, and I do plan to continue to not do so. Now don't get me wrong, I respect you a great deal, you've got great ideas and you're a good coder, and I certainly don't go around bashing you on other sites. That being said, I'll be happy to disagree with you whenever here in MD while I sing the praises of the game anonymously elsewhere.

Grido's point is that claiming Yrthillian should remain King because he hasn't done something that no one has ever claimed was wrong is not a reason at all. It would be like someone saying Yrthillian should remain King because he doesn't eat Babies. I mean, as far as I know, that's true, but it's really not a worthwhile point...

Or even more correlated, perhaps someone might state that Yrthillian had the right to banish Metal Bunny. Well of course he did(I don't know what MB was banished, but assuming he was). Metal Bunny was attempting to oust him. Anything Yrthillian did while he was King to MB was entirely fair. Saying that Yrthillian should remain King because he had the right to do ONE thing that everyone agrees that he had the right to do and no one considers a real issue, including those to whom the offense was commited, is NOT good reasoning.

Ok, name is awful, or whatever. I'm not good with names. Anywho, if you have been keeping up with the Caretakers Thread in the forums, you will know that I applied for leadership of the alliance. Regardless of whether the alliance is given to me, I will be creating this as a group, which, for now, and perhaps forever is NOT an official alliance. If that bothers you, I don't want you involved anyway. I am entirely ok with changing the name at some point. Naming is not my area of expertise.

Anywho, this group will be working on a few different things. Namely they will be working for the greater good of ALL the people of MD. The group is now accepting applications for jobs. Below I will include a summary of the purpose of the group and you can see if you are interested. If you are post ON THE FORUMS if you are interested in a position. No private applications will be accepted. If you apply, please reply with why you feel that you are appropriately objective for the job, and what you can do to help others.

Everything the homeless do is for the care of the people of MD, be that research, defense of the innocent (we'll get to that later), or simply taking care of messes once we have failed to protect them. (Crime scene investigation, care of the dead.) This alliance would ideally get itself involved in the politics of the other lands, doing it's best to prevent war. Should a war break out they may choose a side, in order to protect an innocent people. (I understand that Mur stated the four lands could be involved in wars, the Tribunal is not one of them.) Because of this, if a strong enough group of warriors were collected it would dissuade unreasonable wars and require the public announcement of cause for wars (I realize that I myself am not that strong). (Without reason a war would go under unreasonable and the care takers would step in on the other side.)

On top of this we will be providing shelter and food free of charge (if we find that there are those in need of such things and there are not currently adequate facilities for such.) We will also be providing medical treatment to those who need it and attempt to research into areas that will practically be applied to bettering people's lives.

In a not so RP oriented side, the group will also be creating quests. (Ones that are heavily RP oriented)

So, examples for people needed for the group.

Farmer/Gardener/Rancher (something to provide food in mass quantities)
Warriors (sometimes in order to protect people, you need to hurt some people)
    Scientists (for the research)
    Doctors/healers
    Architects/Carpenters (for building necessary facilities)
PR person (Cause I suck at it, and it's important.)
And anything else that might be helpful to people.

Your applications will be reviewed and voted on by everyone in the group (currently just me). Applications are made public due to the necessary nature of the alliance and their relations with the public.

Edit: I am open to name suggestions even for those of you who are not interested in applying.
