XBOX 360 - Love the Dragon Age series and am a big Bioware fan in general; I played Dragon Age: Origins and all its DLC all the way through at least 6 times and Dragon Age II (and I think all the DLC, too) all the way through 3 times.

I've played the Mass Effect series (but haven't quite finished the last one) and love it, too; I've played the first two, including DLC, all the way through 2-3 times, and will soon play through again.

I haven't played Skyrim yet, but I own it and am an Elder Scrolls fan (especially of Morrowind) and will probably enjoy it at least a little.

I very much enjoyed Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, and Fallout 3 (which I liked but not nearly as much as Fallout 2), but haven't felt the desire to replay them... and that is saying something. If I like a game, I will play the hell out of it. My wife bought me a little Watchmen game on impulse because she knows I am a huge Rorschach fan, and it was fun for a play-through.

I liked Assassin's Creed more than most of my friends did. I haven't yet played all the way through AC II yet, and because I stalled out in the middle of it I will probably re-play the first to get my bearings in the backstory/"present day" plot.

Also on my own-but-haven't-yet played list: L.A. Noire, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, LEGO Batman, Batman: Arkham City, Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run (might be lame, but I played the old Spy Hunter arcade game all the time), Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. I plan to purchase Batman: Arkham Asylum, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and Assassin's Creed III. I like the looks of Minecraft but may avoid it because of what it has done to some of my friends' lives.

On the older XBOX, I played both Knights of the Old Republic games and Jade Empire more times than I can easily count. And since the 360 can run older XBOX games, there's no guarantee I won't play them again. I enjoyed Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, but it is very difficult and I only got about 1/3 of the way through it.

PC - I've played too many games to list, but I am currently very, very addicted to XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the Classic Ironman difficulty. The less said about that, the better.

Tabletop -I play chess but am a mediocre player. I also enjoy Pente, Settlers of Catan, and Dune. I have a group of friends that is absolutely rabid about a good game of Dune.

I play a number of card games, mostly Hearts or poker (preferably Texas Hold'em). I am a very mediocre Spades player.

I am an avid roleplayer and started playing Dungeons and Dragons over 30 years ago. I have written numerous adventures for it and run several multi-year-long campaigns. My system of choice, however, is GURPS, for which I am designing a setting (not my first, but definitely my most-involved ever). I also play Call of Cthulhu (the only RPG my wife will play), and have written a number of investigations for it, one of which might get published at some point. I have also used the Palladium and Rolemaster systems in the past.

Online (in addition to MD): I have avoided MMORPGs because of what EverQuest and World of Warcraft did to some of my friends. I bought Star Wars: The Old Republic and played the early-access part, but haven't bothered to subscribe. I do play Batheo, though, mostly because it isn't an RPG and therefore doesn't eat dozens of hours of my time.

Some of the best titles i've played (even though a bit old), Planescape Torment and Baldur's Gate
Planescape: Torment is the best-reviewed game I've never played, and I do feel I missed out.

Baldur's Gate was excellent. I played it through twice. Baldur's Gate 2 may well be the best computer RPG I have ever played, and was unquestionably the best of its era.

For those interested in inventing recipes:
Go wild. Whip up poisonous serums, strength enhancers, decorative amusements, medicinal poultices, cement, fruitcake, potting soil, leather, glass bottles (which were actually planned), polish, or something I wouldn't dream of.

No, recipes are not the silver bullet of healing that will revive MD.
Yes, too many recipes would make this realm a much less enjoyable place to be.
Please, don't class this as a spoiler and hide it away where nobody finds it.
Sure, maybe it should take some effort for people to make recipes, but it appears that the barrier is currently too high.
Certainly, there's a vast amount going on behind the scenes that I don't know about.
Yes, I want to see people be creative with this.

In the past we have held ceremonies honoring the goddess of the Moon. While we intend to continue honoring the Great Goddess, tripartite goddess, and so on, the priesthood tells me we must summon the darkness within ourselves - the worst thoughts, feelings, and memories. Nothing will be done except by the bloodiest blows. In recognition of this fact, we will hold a ceremony (also called a "Red" service) at Maple Road, 06:00 Day 34 server time. All are welcome to come, fight, bleed, and share in the offering of our pain to the hopeful light in the darkness.

There may be other convocations or "services" at later dates to be determined.

Just to precede my post; I've definitely skimmed, rather than read, at least half the topic.

As memory serves, land specific tools are such to force interaction between lands, so that there has to be that interaction. If we take Tea, you get the herbs from LR, the water from MB, regardless how much is made you have to interact with both lands in some capacity in order to do it.

You say you shouldn't be forced to interact with others (or something) because you are a fighter, I say this is a community and that is precisely what should happen if you want to perform certain actions. This is a PvP, not a Single Player game as you seem to imagine. The players you state, did/do they play alone? Z has his tree, but also his alliance, he interacts with people there, likewise for Awii. RJ had his Drachs, and sporadically had quests for them. IaB you'll forgive me for not knowing what he's up to lately, but at least in the most part these players are not playing alone like you suggest.

Shared tools are only "useless" as you put it, because there's little to do with the resources after you've got them. What you propose will not solve this, it will delay it, and will end up a whole lot worse.

And you know that it's fully intentional that the resources bulk up right? And so transferring portions of resources isn't a good thing (or however to phrase it).

There is a lack of usage of resources and tools, that you pointed out No one, because there is not a goal for them to be used.
An important contest that would stimulate 'average Joe' to fight for and work would change that, but for now ...
I saw many nice ideas in the personal request topics as wishes which would make a lot of resources usable and people would use it. I always ask myself why do we have all the basic resources?

As dst pointed out here ->

http://magicduel.inv...gfishing-tools/

there is a need in a system which makes it easy for everyone to do something with all those resources. No ones idea is an extension of that as I see it. The questions for me are ->

Is there a need in the majority of the community to make resources more useful?

Is there a chance that all those item ideas from the list of wishes will be implemented one day?

If not, this topic is a good starting point...or is it?
Is it that we want a more unified approach: one point of focus for the whole realm, that we seek some overall goal to the many (nonetheless enjoyable) quests currently running?

I ask because I don't know, but the past hints toward hunches.

This is basically a raffle for gifts, but with a twist. (I'd have preferred to put it up earlier so I could reward today, but times interfere I guess.)

Every person that wishes to enter has to talk to some people outside of their usual friend circles. I won't go and try to do my best to force you to do it, but that's the idea of doing it, so if I see someone just asking his friends for referrals, I reserve the right to disqualify you.

Every person who wishes to enter into the raffle has to bring me 3 referrals, one of each from a player with AD in the category of 1-300, 300-1000 and 1000+. Every person can only recommend someone else once. I ask that people who give their recommendations let me know privately in addition to the nominee listing them, namely using forum pm- or ingame if you can catch me there. I would also request that the people nominating do not do this because they were bribed with gifts, coins, etc, but because they actually got to know someone else more than before and thought he deserved a try for something awesome.

Prizes I will scale upon seeing how many enter, but I intend to be generous with at least one drachorn- this is why I ask that people who are capable of acquiring these or already possess one let others have a try, in the spirit of christmas. Minimum will be at least a santa though.

Edit: People can receive more than 3 nominations, but of course that will mean less chances for others to enter. So to prevent someone from getting 10 before anyone knows, I ask that once you have all 3 you need you post here (and only get those 3 first), and then you are allowed to get more, to a maximum of 10.

I will add a small bonus prize for whoever also takes the most enjoyable screenshot of some of the chats they had with the people. That is not limited to the sponsors, anyone you talked to in the process counts for this bonus.

Deadline I intend for this is the 31st of January, a little over a month.

And with this, deadline is over. I ask that each of the 3 people taking part once more confirm the people who sponsor them and their AD categories (sorry, usually I'd do it myself, but am busy with life at the moment).

I am however happy to announce that with 3, the bare minimum for the drachorn is met.

Tarquinus reacted to dst in Calendar restructure?
The current calendar involved tons of work so I would not want to see the efforts of the players tossed away.
What I would do is implement a second calendar. One that has all the things you've mentioned. And players can choose which one they want to see ( through a small tick or something) or choose to see both.

"Tistou, the boy with green thumbs" seems to be the English title for those interested. I had some trouble finding it myself so I thought I would share.

yeah, that sucks...
but you can try something called "reduction of cognitive dissonance" (if I remember correctly) by finding positive sides of that situation...
for example now you can make a weekend trip to England, get your beloved item and personally club the seller to death with a purple carrot

Tarquinus reacted to Burns in Addition to Feature: Trigger Box Playername
In addition to the existing feature that translates the ID into playernames, i'd like to propose that the other ids that show up in the triggerbox as effects directly get translated into names, too.
For example, after buying the feature, it says
Shop Guardian I: 243043_fightsfor_loss
and not the playername who actually is fighting for loss, and
Eagle Eye: intoxicated_by_53832
instead of intoxicated by playername.

To me, it'd be a nice addition if that was added to the trigger box playername feature, or added as separate feature. the code is already there, expanding can't be that hard, right?
