  1. How about best progressor, i.e. the person who has made the mos progress over the last year, it can be quite an open category as it's open to interpretation. Some people may see progression as combat progression others as RP, it doesn't matter. Either way I think it'd be a good category.

  2. For those of you who are mud slinging here you may not have noticed that this post was for other candidates to post their intention to run.

So far all i've seen is myself, rendril and a whole lot of people arguing and a wave of criticism aimed at me for wanting to change something that we agree needs changing.

Akasha, the other reason that the paper is not going well is because it is voluntary, people will only write if they want to, or have time to. I cannot force them to write, I write a couple of stories myself, but to expect me to write the whole thing is ludicrous.

Anyway the point is, how are we going to decide the new master archivist?

I appear to have lost favour with a lot of people, and so I apologise for wanting to actually DO something rather than sitting around talking about it, saying "We should do this" then waiting for someone else to go and do it.

Does anyone else want to anounce candidacy?

  3. And once again, another case of akasha not getting all the facts before she publicly attacks my suggestions.

    DEDICATED to calyx.

    She doesn't WIN the award.

For example, every year someone wins the 'Ivan novello' award, he died years ago but somebody else wins it. It is still dedicated to Ivan novello.

  4. Okay to respond to all of this.

    1. The newspaper is behind by months because there is nothing worth writing about, if there were then the writers would write.
    2. Akasha, how DARE you suggest that I only log in now and again, I log in every day for at LEAST two or so hours, just because YOU don't see me doesn't mean that I am inactive. You find ME revolting? I find the fact that you decide to attck me so blatantly without getting all the facts straight revolting. It's actions like this that cause people to leave the game.
    3. Awiiya did decline the offer, as did innocence, so maybe i'm not a perfect candidate, but then nobody is. Surely it is better to have some kind of leadership than to be running around like a bunch of headless chickens.
    4. Chewett I think that the paper and the archivists could be interspersed,

Perhaps myself and rendril could approach the task between us.

I think between the two of us we could rekindle the fire of the archivists and bring direction back tot he guild.

  5. Since pample’s departure, the position of master archivist has been open and our guild seems to have lost some purpose, I don’t know if the members of the guild have noticed this but I know some people outside the archivists I’ve talked to have.

That’s why I would like to put myself forward for the position and I recommend anyone else who wants to do so does the same, then we can put a vote on the forum or see if mur would be interested in making an election for us.

I propose that whoever is elected to the position should do all they can to revive the archivists and restore their former glory, we are a writers guild, and as such we should write!

Now on to my personal proposal for the post:

    Why me?

    - The Longest serving archivist, been around since Renavoid was master archivist
    - Good experience of setting up in game initiatives such as the newspaper and the end of year awards
    - Excellent experience of writing, both in game and out having written for the newspaper in game and as a scriptwriter out of game.
    - Good reputation and well known figure within the realm.

What do I plan to do?

    - Revive faith and interest in the archivists.
    - Get the adventure log going again.
    - Renew interest in the archives website.
    - Reinstate the story nights started by pample.
    - Make sure all archivists have a purpose.
    - And ultimately get people interested in writing and role playing.

I want to save the archivists from going the same way as the artisans, I don’t know if that’s on the cards or not but it’s better to be safe than sorry, right?

  6. It's nearly christmas again and that means it's end of year awards time.

    So here's the plan.

Today (december 2nd) - December 9th: Suggest categories
December 10th - Decmeber 13th: nominate (Yes only three days, I know)
    December 14th - December 18th: vote
    December 20th: Ceremony

I know it's very short notice but this is the best I can do.

    good luck!

  7. I am TRULY sorry, but as a child who is also a firebending knight who has cybersex with an overly nice thief that steals beer from a barman who can't spell due to laziness, I find this whole thing very offensive.

    Nah, just kidding.

I'm not even remotely offended by fenrir's comments for a few reasons:

    1. They are his opinions and he's entitled to them, just as I would expect him to allow me my opinions.
    2. I don't have the time to get offended by things, there are much more important things in life.
    3. He's in a different country and i'm never likely to meet him, and probably wouldn't know him if I DID meet him, so why should I get offended?

So go ahead, play a child or whatever. Why does it matter if someone doesn't like it?

get over it and get on with it.
    That's what I'd do anyway.

  8. I'm in two minds about this.

On one hand, it's good to see a bit more rigidity to the dojo.

Some of the rules are valid, but then there are others which I'm not so impressed with.

1: MP5's are open to attack - I personally used to go to the dojo, not to train, but because it was the social epicentre of the game, I could talk to friends and not risk mass gribbly death.

2: Not to use excessive roleplay - Why not just change the name of the game to 'duel' in that case? The dojo was the last bastion of roleplay left in the game, so where are us 'RPC's (that's ROLE PLAYING characters, for those who have forgotten) supposed to ROLE PLAY? We could go to the...no, wait, there's nobody there....or how about the.....Nope....no one there either. Most people were either at the dojo (Role players and those less interested in combat) or the gazebo (Combatheads). So now where are the roleplayers supposed to go? Because I for one will not be returning to the dojo any time soon.

I know some people will dispute the comments i've made, but I stand by them.
The idea as a whole is a good one, but it needs refining.

  9. I found the game via banner too.

    On a sidenote though.

has anyone thought of setting a facebook or something like that up for the game? I know we tried to get a wiki a while back but that came to nothing.

I have no idea how facebook would work for something like this but it's just a suggestion.

(Sorry about the offtopicness of all that but it was just a thought)

  10. I believe we have finally hit on the crux of the matter and as such I believe it's time for me to play my hand.

    1. I am attempting to reach MP6 so I am in need of MP6.
    2. I have been around long enough to be able to teach you what you know.
    3. Although I am not the greatest fighter in the realm, I am a spy and as such can have ready the information you need when you ask.
    4. I do not expect you to become my adept for free, and so I will give you one free heal token, redeemable when I hit MP6.
    5. You need a teacher, I can do that for the reasons above.
    6. This is a simple case of supply and demand, you demand a teacher, I supply one. I demand an adept, you can supply one.

Let me know if you fancy doing business.

  11. It's Finally here.

The First issue of the Magic duel Newspaper - the Golden Globe Gazette

many people have worked tirelessly on this first issue alone so they would greatly appreciate it if you would all take the time to read it.

there will hopefully be a more traditional method of distribution but for now this forum link will have to do.

    Feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Your first issue!

Editor in chief - Golden globe Gazette

  12. Okay cool.

Although for the moment we've got a lot of staff at the moment, we're also pretty busy since we're getting close to release date, but after we send out the first issue i'm gonna have a review of all the staff, get rid of the ones who aren't contributing and take on board some (hopefully) more dedicated people, so I will bear you in mind then.

Thanks for showing your support and you'll probably hear from me after the first issue has been released.

  13. To all those who said death by sex, yes pleasurable but not gonna look good at your funeral when you're buried with your sex face ^_^

I wanna go out in a blaze of Glory, maybe take a few spectators down too in a firey furnace of twisted metal or something like that.

Either that or being strangled by one of my own guitar strings, that way I can accurately impersonate the noise my guitar makes when I play it :P

Perhaps I've put too much thought into this >.<

    Oh well.

  14. YAY :D

    Thanks Guys....

*Squeezes in the thanks in the last 15 minutes (Here anyway) of my Birthday*

    Good news:

I've not died for another year!
    Happy non death to me.

    Thanks all

hmm.....If my birthday went unnoticed...that means i'm a better spy than even I thought!

    Cheers everyone.
