    Alliances, Guilds, Etc

As to alliances, their structure and importance in MD is being reworked on the backend. Its no secret I and many others in MD have agreed that the current setup, especially the loyalty requirements of the leader, is not very "MD". The initial idea of loyalty determining the leader was always thought to be good. However since loyalty was gained in a number of ways that are not representing actual "Loyalty" to the land, it became pretty moot. Many of those who read this will have been asked about their thoughts on alliances over the past month, by a number of people. I have asked a couple of people to talk to people and gets ideas for a better "alliance" structure. Its something that has been on the back burner for years because its never really sat well with it. Once I can summarise the opinions I will be posting it publicly and then people can give their final opinions before I finalise an idea and start planning the changes codewise.

    Scene Redesign Challenge

This is my first time coloring a scene, and I like to focus on small things, even it can be unnoticeable & time consuming. I don't exactly remember the first day of my journey, it was a long time ago...but I still remember the mixed feeling about it. It was like playing an escape room, so many puzzles and hidden messages around me, I can't wait to click everything and search for clues. but there was no one in the Paper Cabin, then I met the Shades and the little girl (in story mode)...well, little bit creepy but I like it very much, the unknown is beautiful. Also the Paper Cabin was like a safe room to me, I was extremely curious about the "outside world", but I always go back there when I feel lost. Although it's not the place for beginners anymore, it is still one of the meaningful place in MD.

    A gift for Draconas

Those of you who know me fairly well know that I sleep in the Drachorn Lair next to Bernard's left foot. Thanks to the kindness and hospitality of the Lair's inhabitants Draconas and Burns, I feel like I am welcome to stay there despite the fact that I do not seek to become a Lair Keeper. In my evenings keeping Bernard company, I have spoken to Draconas many times and I know how much he longs to go home, his love for his beloved rider and the respect he has for many who have resided in the realm. The one thing that still eludes him is a source of food that is big enough for one as great as he is. He has told me many times since I met him of his wish for a certain type of tree which bears fruit of his favourite food from his own realm. Though I have no magic or power to grant him such a tree within the realm in thanks for his friendship, I have drawn how I think such a tree would look and how I hope it would appear in MD. Draconas, I hope you enjoy this gift and accept my thanks.

This quest had originally been written some years hence, but Aelis hath recently solved it, and did advise me that he enjoyed it immensely. I presently reward all who successfully complete this quest from mine own inventory, although I should like for sponsorship, or a Spell-Document, to reward those worthy; in time past, Tarquinus did grant his Spell-Document to those that solved this quest. Currently, for those that solve it, I offer a 13th Anniversary Hollow Warrior (only a single one doth remain), or a choice of a Root Warrior, Imperial Aramor, or Sharptear. If these do not suit, I am willing to grant a prize of credits commensurate on the quality, and elegance, of the solution. It seems that the demon of the realm, Mur, hath declared the Realm of MagicDuel to be, as it were, a cube. I imagine, then, that had such a realm originated in different orientation, that Night may be a more common occurrence. Likewise, the cube in which all may come to this realm may resemble, or echo thus, this formation. I wonder then, if I were to model such an orientation, would a different orientation, and thus, outcome, be possible? If I were to mark one surface of a cube with an arrow, pointing to the north, with the marked surface facing skyward, such that it were opposite to the surface that doth contact the flat surface, and place such cube on the flat surface, such that it does not, and cannot slide, but roll, and flip over its edges when gently pushed in any of four directions, would it be possible to return the cube, in any number of the aforementioned moves, to the original space that it had occupied, with the difference that this cube must be oriented with the marked surface facing upwards, and the arrow pointing to the East; toward the Tribunal Lands, and Dominion of Mur? While the answer may be yea or nay, such a solution must come with impeccable logic, and reason, rather than endless tirade. If the answer were yea, a solution, or sequence of moves, shall satisfy, while if the answer were nay, provide impeccable reasoning, or proof, wherefore it were so. I accept proofs or solutions only via private message, either upon the Forum, or within the realm. A transcription of the Common-Tongue, for the purposes of readability: "Imagine a cube, marked with an north-pointing arrow on the upper surface, on an infinitely large flat surface. You can roll the cube over any of its edges as many times as you like, but you can't slide it and you can't turn it in place. Is it possible to return the cube to its starting location, except that the arrow is on the upper surface and pointing to the east instead? Either provide a sequence of moves which allows this, or prove why it is not possible."

    Where have the years gone?

Gosh, it's been quite a while since I've spoken to anyone here. Even the odd person I kept in touch with, I have the last messages sent... A year ago. I'm reading over stuff, thinking about the past and the people in it. It's weird to think that other people have been getting on with their own lives. I kind of imagine the people that "lived" here as not ever really ageing or changing in the least. Obviously, I watched people change in front of my eyes and just didn't really ever notice it. I wish I could hear everyone's stories since the last time I spoke to them, to see if everyone else has changed as much as I imagine they have. I'd be surprised if they hadn't to be honest. I'm don't know how things are going at the minute. I haven't asked, I don't really want to. In my mind, this is the place it always used to be back when I used to frequent it. There's honestly a special place in my heart for the people and places here, and it makes me tear up a little to type that, feeling silly as all heck as I do. I don't know whether this is a Hello, or a Goodbye, or what else it really could be. Something I can't put into words. That's a bit unlike me, these days. I like to think that I'm just a tad more articulate, flowery, expressive, whatever. I've had a lot of issues with expression in the past. Perhaps I wanted people to notice when I radically changed? I don't think they did, or they were kind enough to not point it out in a rude way. Maybe that's why I chose this sort of shapeshifter persona, despite how outright irritating that must have been back in the day. I loved to play characters and switch things up, and I think a lot of that was finding myself, as sappy as it reads to my own eyes. I guess my real point here is just in a way that I probably gave off a lot of wrong impressions. I don't mean that in a fake way. I'm not really planning on re/kindling up a bunch of friendships. I didn't know how to get across what I wanted sometimes. Fake hostility probably came out a lot as real hostility. This applies to EVERYONE I ever spoke to at any point. I can't say I've ever... Really, truly, actually despised anyone here, or even remotely disliked anyone for longer than a minute. No, not even you. It's bittersweet to read over things. Surprisingly, more sweet than bitter. I can't put my finger on it. I feel detached from who I used to be, though as a few people have alluded to in the past, I'm a different person entirely publicly and privately, normally. Maybe some of you haven't had a break (and I type that assuming this is going to be read by anyone, I'm fairly sure it isn't.) Maybe you're thinking about what a random little thing this is. I sure am! I've been gone for years though, I think, and think I needed to say something, though I know I've said things along these lines before, but perhaps not as heartfelt as it is now, with all the experience and knowledge I've gotten under my belt since those times. Anti-climax. Apologies. Sorry for being an annoying little s- sugarcube. I appreciate beyond what I can express in words all the things that you did for me though, intentionally or not, well-intentioned or not. I love you all, best of luck in whatever you've moved onto since we last spoke, and I hope you're all as young-at-heart as you were back then too. Here's to... I guess... Seven years ago? ~VC

    Logs of kills and revivals

I would like to request a log of both kills and revivals be made available for all to see so that the entire population has access to data on who gets killed, how often and by whom. and examples for headers might be: Player Killed, Killer, Date, Time, Kill Method / item used and Player revived, Reviver, Date, Time, Kill Method / item used I believe that this information belongs to the entire population, and I can see no viable or arguable reason why such logs may not exist. They could be placed in MDA with the logs of item transfers etc.

    Bye bye MD

I am always sorry when a player of such presence leaves, but i am also not sorry for not changing my decisions just to make someone stay. I think now i understand your request better. It is a behaviour pattern i kept seeing in md, when someone is about to leave anyway, they make the most absurd requests knowing they have nothing to lose. Anyway, you are always welcome back! And even if you think that me or MD, won't exist, i think MD still hold secrests to fuel your thoughts, and you are welcome to check back from time to time to see what i mean. As long as i physically exist and can still type, md will be my main creation..and even if one day it will be empty, i will still continue to develop it and bribg valuable things into it. And when i won't be around, you still have chew to 'worry' about...so don't count on md's end too soon 😛

    Scene Redesign Challenge

I do not have time to conduct a quest or design a new scene. But I still want to participate in at least one quest, for old times sake. This picture is years old, designed by me for a Christmas scene decoration quest, one of the five or six scenes I designed for that quest. I liked another picture and therefore chose that one for submission. However, nothing in the world can match the strong feeling of nostalgia I get when I see this pic, the hours of labour it took me to create this one tiny frame, paint, erase and repeat, paint, erase and repeat, I even used to get headaches due to spending hours in front of my laptop... The sole purpose of it being wanting to win the best questor award at the end of the year. Beating dst at what she was incredible at, seemed like a badge of pride to wear during those days. Still is. All of it began in this paper cabin as Esmerelda. The funny part is, after I finally understood what I wanted to do in this game, I created a new character named Nimrodel, as you know me now, and I didn't start the game in Paper cabin at all! Mp2 testing was going on, and I started the game in golemus, at wraith's wreck if I remember correctly, ate Grido's brains asking too many questions, stumbled upon some super secret golemus meeting which I remember nothing about (all I remember is they kicked me out respectfully asap). And after that began my journey as Nim to the person you know me as on today. I may not have been there for all the 14 years of MD, but every single day that I get to experience this... Phenomenon, is a new lesson, a new experience in its own. Here's hoping to be able to spare more time in the near future, Happy Birthday MagicDuel. Wish you many many more to come...

Upon recent events I did find myself within the Dead, with little company, save for the Death Guards, a very kind wookie, and, in curiosity, a shade. This shade did say naught, but did pass to myself a small stone tablet, that which I do exhibit herewith. With time, I believe I did realise of its meaning, and did reveal it to the shade; who then finally did speak, in gratefulness, that it should finally understand of what its sibling did write. Those who message myself the solution upon the Forum shall be in contention for rewards that I have petitioned of Chewett and Ailith - a Wishpoint and anniversary creature for the first to provide its solution, and a second anniversary creature to the second to do so. Entries are now open, and shall close upon the close of the anniversary celebrations, fourteen days hence. I shall accept only of solutions in private-message upon the forum - entries posted elsewhere shall not be accepted.

    Golem's Reflection

Golem’s Reflection Ailith kneels before the fires at Mount Kelle’tha and speaks the following words: “Truth. Balance. Reason” Before her an image of a broken antique hand mirror frame appears, with only shards and dust of the mirror remaining. Ailith nods and utters: “Truth. Transposition. Light” The shards and dust leave the frame and approach her, whirling around her for a few moments as though she had millions of stars surrounding her. “Truth. Entropy. Time.” They then coalesce to create three larger shards and move to hover in front of her eyeline, reflective surfaces facing her. Each holds a different image. To begin the quest, please find Ailith awake in game and during a conversation with her, ask “What did you see in the first shard?” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the first part of a longer quest that I intend to run in game from my papers. I am launching the first part only for the duration of MD's 14th birthday. This quest involves some writing, so success and rewards will come from the following criteria: Effort: Outstanding / Average / Minimal Content: Outstanding / Average / Minimal Relevance: Outstanding / Average / Minimal Effort means the amount of time and thought you spend on your response, Content means the consideration you have given to actually writing the response and relevance means how closely your response is connected to what I am asking of you. Please note: I will NOT be judging your grammar, spelling or level of written English if it is not your native language. What matters to me is your own personal style and expression. For the time period of the MD birthday, I will give the First and Second place entries an anni creature. (All contestants who pass the bar on the first section of this quest will be allowed to continue with the second part which will be published in one or two months)

I believe this shall be the most daring quest that I ever do create upon these Forums; it may end in utter failure, but it were my hope that it were not so. Among the most mysterious and poorly understood parts of the realm is Inner-Magic - that deemed such by Mur. In time past, there had been many who did possess a fragment of Inner-Magic to share with others of the realm, in reward for quests. I do believe Mur hath further fragments to grant, but this is not a quest that doth arise out of necessity; merely that I have been overly impressed of recent of the realm's brilliance. Thus do I offer this quest this anniversary: Create an Inner-Magic spell document, including all of its levels. The first were a description, and each level shall increase in depth; each level should be brief. An example of one in near-entirety may be found of the Timeless Shot spell - https://magicduel.com/index.php?pag=samplespell - do note of the complexity of thought required to conceive of such magic. Aelis hath offered to judge of this quest, as one of the coveted Soldiers of the Inner Sun. I shall provide them as anonymous entries, so that he may judge them based on their quality. The quest entries shall be judged upon the close of the Anniversary such that the prizes may be awarded, but it may be that this quest shall persist, if there were sufficient interest and exceptional submissions. Rewards for this quest were as petitioned from Ailith and Chewett - A wishpoint to the submission best judged, and anniversary creatures to those placed second, and third. Do note that I shall ask further for anniversary creatures in reward if there were an excess of submissions that Aelis should deem deserving thereof. Submissions, as with mine other quests of the Anniversary, shall remain upon the Forum only. If all the submissions are deemed insufficient in quality, I do reserve the right to change the rewards accordingly, but this too I shall defer to Aelis. There is no guarantee that these will be deemed even remotely sufficient to even attract a passing glance from Mur for consideration of implementation; yet, the realm's brilliance has not failed me thus far. Murspeed.

    Let's design... a radar?

I'll quote from ann. 4626: There is a feature that i wanted to add for many years, but i waited for artworks and never managed to get/do some that i liked. The weirdest things bug me - and that glowing thing with letters in it that stays between 'boxes' does. Let's design something that Mur will (hopefully) like and put in the interface. There are no rewards for this, I have not been asked to do this and chances are we'll fail. However, it's your chance to design an interface thingie. Here's my idea:

    Blessings

I will post this half-finished project because I cannot get the results I want, the way I want them. My goal was to discuss the subject with all who are awake and willing, but while doing that, I realized I cannot reach my goal this way. I have heard different opinions from everyone, there were no two alike, and while I enjoyed it, it's making things soo difficult. What follows are my own thoughts, although some were created only by talking to others. 'To bless'' or ''to curse'' are terms associated with religion, magic rituals and other esoteric. Yet to bless is nothing more than wishing someone well and to curse is nothing but wishing someone ill. Words are not even needed; it is intention that puts things in motion. What we do, what life does in general, needs no explanations, no definitions, no descriptions. Yet we come up with categories, definitions, rules, because that is a path we create in the sea of chaos. So I try to describe this concept of wishing someone well, although it needs no descriptions. A blessing is the act of wishing someone well. A blessing can be silent; words only augment the reality of a blessing. A silent blessing is an intention that came into existence - this is not something passive. A blessing is usually born in extraordinary circumstances. It can accompany great deeds or it can be humble, but it always carries comfort. Another way to augment the reality of a blessing is by an additional act - the gifting of a helpful item. Intention puts things in motion and is carried by material means, and the lack of a tangible aid either means the lack of such means or a deceiving act. A blessing reveals the bond between two beings. Because of this, blessing were and are employed in many 'businesses'. Living, you create and undo bonds, but the desire for bonding and the fear of severing makes blessings profitable, when they can be faked. A blessing can be seen as a symbol - a symbol of a union between two selves into an imperfect/unstable ''greater self''. This greater self can expand to family, tribe, nation, although with every level of expansion the blessing is losing reality. Since I like playing in Photoshop, those of you who wish to, can message me and I will add their blessing to the album I will be creating in a minute (that was another failed idea). As for discussing the ''paper'' I made, I'm available, but not in this thread.

The current state of Stage 14

This post summarizes the current state of stage 14 as I see it. I had a preliminary discussion with some Discord users and now I open it up fully to the forum. Please note that some, if not many, of the problems outlined here wont be solved in Stage 14. However these outline our current problems as I see them, so we can discuss them. I am mainly going to be focussing on the Server upgrades, as they have a hard deadline of flash going away, but the others I am opening up to discussion and I might interleave the upgrades with other work. Server upgrades (flash, php7) - These are making good progress and are my primary coding focus given the short deadline and large amount of work. The Job system - A new type of tag, building on what we half implemented Death - Is it working? Is it fair? Maybe we can make it more interesting. Alliances - What should they be? Guilds - What should we do with them? Resources - What are we going to do here then? Principles - How do you want them to be used? MP6 - What shall we do with the MP6? MP7 - What should it become? Torch Contest - Do people want the torch contest? HC/BHC - Another contest, should it run more regularly? LHO - Maybe more? Maybe remove it?

    GWI Aramor Assembler - base

A base for the Aramor Assembler, as Azull did suggest it were required in addition to the previous rendition - this were its second portion, as I did require of further paper. The base had once been a device to process of stone; but a Fenth did arrive upon it. Instead of becoming as the processor, it did take of the stone and increase in volume as a Fenth. It doth rise toward the Crystal catalyst of the Aramor Fenth; thus may one turn of Stone into an Aramor.

    Scene Redesign Challenge

Ok, lets give it a shot First I want to say that I tried to incorporate both my arrival upon Island and Main Land into one picture. Even though my scene may suggest otherwise I was very warmly greeted upon arrival at the island, still the first thing that comes to mind when I think about that time is the feeling that everything is shrouded in a mystery, that many things are not what they seem to be, hunger for adventure and discoveries. It was a new experience, I felt like a baby trying to learn how to walk. The bloody part comes mostly from my memories of encountering shades for the first time when I arrived upon No man's land, I wanted to present my uneasiness that I felt back then. Anyway MD still reamins a mystery for me, a one that I want to dive into and let it swallow me whole.

Thank you for this quest Aia, it was very challenging and rather difficult to find a solution for, I'm not a 'quester' myself, but upon reading this one it had inhabited me for a couple of days that I felt like I just had to give it a go, or else the universe will implode. It was very well done and absolutely deserves a sponsorship and/or a reward far more valuable than what is currently on the table. I enjoyed every second of frustration it gave me. 😊

New Titles - Job titles and RP titles

Here I outline a plan which has existed since the titles were changed to having two at once. The reason this hasnt been fully implemented is that I have no desire to half implement something in MD, leaving it in a limbo state. I see this title change very important, leading onto both changes in the resource economy and alliance/guild system. The premise is this, instead of randomly picking two titles which you wear upon your character you have two titles. Roleplay Titles and job titles. Currently the majority of titles fall into category 1, Roleplay titles. These relate to you as a character and who you are. An example is the tag "Bringers of Light". This would be the main tag that is shown first on your character page. These are designed to be customized to you and slowly gained from your king, or similar. The second, and new title would is called the job title. If you have no roleplay title it will be shown as your main title however those that have a roleplay title it would be shown below that. The job title is something that would have an active and passive effect in what you do day to day. Examples of job progression Amateur thing doer -> Apprentice thing doer -> experienced thing doer -> Master thing doer -> chief thing doer Here while working on "thing doing" you will slowly progress in the ranks. Each "level up" in rank will require certain tasks to be performed, and in addition they will confer certain bonuses. You may need to learn from a master, you may just need to practice hard, or you may need consensus from a secret community of thing doers. The basic idea is that with job titles you can slowly progress them to a level wherin you become the best at doing the thing. At higher levels, you will gain access to better tooling, and potentially even access to the guilds themselves attributed to those skills. This may be one of the ways we start allowing other guilds into the game. Obviously consideration would be given to those currently in the guilds, as we wouldnt want to just say "You no longer have an alliance" What jobs could I do? Any! The idea with jobs is that like tags, you would be able to change them as you wish however there would be a cost. At the higher level of tags there would require a continual effort to maintain the skill. If you didnt continue to maintain it the tag itself would degrade to a specific level (e.g. to experienced). This base level wouldn't be able to be lost, but would show that while you may have reached a higher level, you havent practised the skills recently. Depending on the decay rate, you might be able to keep two or so skills at the highest level however the others would degrade. This then means you cant have one person who is the best at everything and encourages working with others who are able to get the higher level tools/ingredients that you need. Another facet to this, is that I wouldnt want to necessarily limit a players pick of jobs. While mechanically there will only be a certain set of jobs in the game initially I would welcome any player to put forward their idea of a job if they want to play it. Within reason if it makes sense we would look at implementing that job with its own progression tree. For example a water dowser may focus on a subtree where he works with woodcrafting to repair his buckets. Skilling both woodcutting and water dowsing at the same time. However since it is a duel skill, neither would be able to reach the higher levels. -- Opinions are welcome, but first we need to fix the economy.

    Death - A discussion

Purely from a technical point of view, the death system is actually stolen from the Torch Contest system. When dead you are put into a state of being in the torch contest and this has some unfortunate consequences. Once we rework the death system and work out what we want it to mean by being "dead" we will certainly change this. However some of the big questions are death presents are: How limiting do we think death should be? Currently its actually quite a nice system in terms of allowing you to do some things, but not all. However this does need a bit of effort. I would be interested to hear opinions from others about how "far" the death system should go. Is it currently working well for those who died? I know in the past people have left from being killed, which is a great shame. By limiting the players freedom it can seem as if they are stuck. We need to ensure that this sytem cannot be abused to permanently keep someone out of MD. While this may seem as a good RP situation for some, for others it will involve them just not being in MD at all. Which is something we will want to avoid. Does this mean that killing someone is too hard, or maybe too easy? Opinions here are welcome. I know a number of you raised concern that death is only available to the elite, with a large amount of coin in purse to purchase a use of a tool, or the tool itself. Maybe a certain about of losses in a period of time would "Kill" a character temporarily? One such discussion point raised was that some people felt that potentially you should be left in your alliance when dead. The reasoning was that this would then allow people something to do during their death. This has some technical questions as while you can be a member of a land different from your alliance, I would need to check how well this works. Revival is always an interesting point of view, Either you require a friend or tool yourself, or currently I believe there is the grave wreath. There was some concern in discord that 1000 flowers is a large number to require, and certainly wouldnt be sustainable over a number of deaths. Potentially we need easier ways to revive for the loner type characters. Say after 2 months they are back? But even two months is a long period... Opinions here are welcome, this is a post discussing my and others viewpoints, I wont necessarily be solving these problems immediately.

When asking public opinion about how people like to lose their stuff, consider what part of this mechanism is designed to bring tension/challenge and what is actually broken. You are a softer, less cruel ruler and i am/was , so maybe its good to "fix" this...on the other hand, i should remind you that the sort of tension ally system presents due to the loyalty mechanism, is an important factor that puts things in motion. One way to fix this would be to have a custom paramter/skill to define ally leadership, and keep leadership just for war-only alliances. For example a guild could determine its leader based on a skill that is obtained only from activity that involves that guild. In such a case, if you would want to do that, i should add that this mechanism based on a custom skill , should also allow anyone to revive a guild using that skill. alliances will remain subject to treason and takeovers, while guilds would be merit and involvement only. makes sense? ps. i could start implementing this if you agree, i have sort of a plan on how to achieve it... but its your decision

Progress is going well, lots more changes have been made and its looking better. I have another flash object to remove which hopefully will disappear in the next month or so. I just need to test adding it into MD. (Its coded locally but needs full MD implementation).

    Research and Connections clues

I think higher level clues should be unlocked by achievements awarded from your own research and ideas expanding on existing research or introducing new aspects of it. To me, as someone who is interested in research, this must be an interactively rewarded part of MD. I don't want to just mindlessly unlock research by wishpoints I get from logging on a certain amount of days. I want to unlock it because I have worked to achieve it.

Feel free to add any additional images, colour, text, or modify the image in any way you feel fit. The only requirement is that it must be (at least vaguely) visible that it is Paper Cabin. Along with the image, you must write some words about what this scene means to you, and how you were welcomed into MD. Examples of previous entries are available in this thread. Prizes will be 1 Anniv creature to first second and third place (either decided by vote or judging panel) along with various gold and silver rewards. Any notable artworks outside first second and third will also be awarded 1 Anniv.

    Birthday Cooking Quest!

Herewith, mine submission - Cow-Tree Phở - simplified from a family recipe of mine inhabitor. Instructions are included for those who wish to create of it in the other-realm, also. Requirements were as follows: Five units of pure elemental rain-water - enough to fill a large recipient Two units of Bones, obtained of a cow that doth grow within Ailith's mythical Cow-Tree. Bones excavated from Necrovion will not suffice. One unit of thinly sliced cow, also from the Cow-Tree Three seedling-bulbs (preferably of the onion-kind) One unit of rice-noodles; a rarity within this realm A handful of ground aromatic herbs; a handful of whole aromatic herbs One handful of Golemian Rock-Salt A handful of leaves from the basil-plant A sprinkling of ground pepper-corn Twelve full erolin-spheres; alternatively, a full heat-storing jar (twelve thousand points shall suffice). Fill of a large cooking-pot with elemental water. Source of some bones - a kilogram and a half thereof (I would hope, from the Cows in the Cow-tree, rather than that excavated within Necrovion) - that with much marrow were ideal for this recipe. Sprinkle some ground aromatic herbs, and some that were not ground. (Those within the other-realm may use of some Five-Spice, and some whole star anise) - a generous handful shall suffice. Place within two large seedling-bulbs (those of the other-realm may know of these as onions; the brown or the red equally suffice). Do not slice of these into smaller portions; some incomplete cuts shall suffice, such that the water may permeate of them, yet not cause of disintegration. Add of some erolin-heat, and simmer for two to three hours, then, set aside to cool overnight (one of the other-realm may use a refrigerator to aid of this process). Once cooled, one shall note of a coalescence atop the broth. Carefully remove of this and discard it. To complete of the broth, add of some Golemian Mineral Salts to taste; one of the other-realm may, in preference, use of fish-sauce. Prepare of some rice-noodles; these are indeed quite rare within the realm; one must find a place to grow of rice, and reap of it, and cast them into flat sheets; one blessed of the other-realm may find it easier to purchase of these, and mine inhabitor doth quite recommend of that which were fresh, and not dried. If one may obtain of the fresh kind, soak in boiling water for two minutes, and strain of the water. Add of sliced onion-bulb, and of raw, thin slices of cow, from the mythical cow-tree. Finally, ladle of the broth (ideally, it were close to the boil at this time) over the dish, and sprinkle of some ground pepper-corns and basil-leaves. One so inclined may add of bean-shoots, or of further heat-spices, but this were not mine own preference. Serve hot; stir to cook the beef until it were cooked to thine own taste.

    Scene Redesign Challenge

I present to you: The Crazy Jazzy Welcome to MD Party hosted by yours truly (not shown because I was the one taking the picture!) featuring: a bunch of drunk old geezers, illusions, pimped dudes, a drachat, foods, drinks, decorations aaaaand SAVEL "FUSER" COLTRANE on the jazzy sax! (oh and a happy dancing book because why not display a book enjoying some cool jazz?) -- Oh and a mad guy outside who wasn't invited because he wouldn't let us party properly! He keeps staring from afar with a spyglass... creepy. Hope you enjoy it! Fun fact: Savel Coltrane is known as Mr P.C., or Mr. Paper Cabin, because he often plays there. Last year, during an interview, he's told the press that it's his favorite venue. ______________________________________________________________ I made the scene like this because I saw an old screenshot of the Paper Cabin the other day and it was CROWDED, just like this party. I miss the days where you'd have like 3-4 rows of players in the PC and everyone was having a great time. I guess it was like this when I started, but I didn't really pay much attention to the players or the chat back then... I was too busy admiring the scenes and the story mode and trying to figure out what the hell was going on haha.

    The Economy - Resources

This opinion I do hold, in terms of resources. Presently, if one should require of a certain resource, she merely obtains of the tool required, and gathers of it herself. In the other-realm, if one doth require of such resources, the preferred method were to pay a levy to another who hath profession to provide of it. In example, one who doth require of bread shall pay the baker, and receive in return. The baker shall require significant effort to create of this bread, and so to recuperate of her investment, she hath trained herself well, and purchased of large ovens, and hath made contracts with those that supply her flour. If one should require resources to have value, they must be scarce, or require of significant effort to create, or have desirable purpose. An example of this were the Memory Stone - this were sufficiently scarce, doth require of a specialised detector, and were immediately purposeful as a conduit for spell-imprinting.

    Alliances, Guilds, Etc

As far as alliances and guilds go, I'm about 90% sure the only "important" change "recently" (using that word loosely) would be when Eon traded in all his Mad Emperor points towards getting a Mansion renamed for his own use in the East, and then gave all his backing (at that point, just his word was left) to Sunfire for Eastern Emperor. DST also seems to think shes doing some harm to the CotE by killing Aia to disband it, but in reality shes just wasting her time. Aside from that, nothing overly important has happened when it comes to Guilds/Alliances. On other notes, Syrian became PermaMP6 during "testing", Sunfire earned (and I mean earned) MP7, as did Azull and Miq, oh and Miq became GGs new King. Azull earned the right to work with A25 as did a few others if memory serves and has been doing a damn good job on that front. Am I forgetting anything? Anyone? ( O.o)

Would it be possible to have a function to send each tool back manually to their original place prior to uses being depleted? This will help if someone takes something in error, or has been given something they don't really want personally and can't give it back due to 3 tool restriction (as has just happened to me lol).

For the Anniversary celebrations, Aelis the Sky Scouter did create of two thousand and nineteen Hot-Air Balloons, through those resources which he did scrounge from those new upon the Island of the Gateway. As a seasoned Sky-Scouter, he did plot of their course in a perfect, straight path toward Mur in the East, as a surprise to Mur, with much fanfare; and did launch of all of them from the peak of the mountain upon the Gateway, each following of the previous in perfect synchrony of speed. In coincidence, and mayhap also in response to the many newlings that did complain of the broken balloon upon the Island of the Gateway, Mur did also create of two thousand and nineteen Hot-Air Balloons, and did plot their course toward the Island, that each should also travel in a perfect, straight path, at constant speed, from Mur toward the Island, such that they may be of service for those who did wish to leave the Island. In further coincidence, this path were exactly that of Aelis, in reverse; Mur, and Aelis, did release these balloons in perfect synchrony - such were the workings of the Soldiers of the Inner Sun. A curious incident, then, did occur within the skies - when any balloon did meet another balloon which were travelling in a direction opposite, they did collide, sending each directly away from each other, still traversing along this perfect path, at the same speed, yet in the opposite direction. A surprise, then, for Aelis, and Mur, who did each find each created balloon returned to themselves. The balloonists did indeed experience of many collisions, in many bumpy rides, and did curse of their ill luck. The first to message to myself upon the Forum a solution for the total number of collisions, and an explanation thereof, shall be awarded an anniversary creature. As this were a race - only the first correct answer shall win. Do assume that Chewett hath movelocked of Mur while any balloon were airborne.

Samon has, in utter expedience, solved of this quest, and earned of the anniversary creature. I shall leave this quest open for those who wish to attempt it; a solution shall be posted upon the Anniversary close. I shall be quite happy to verify any answer sent to myself upon the Forum, if one were so inclined to do so.

    A New Aramor Assembler

A vision of the Aramor Assembler upon the Island of the Gateway; at suggestion of Azull. This doth consist of a Crystal, which doth catalyse of the Fenth to assemble of an Aramor, both from existing parts and missing ones, which the Fenth readily doth form. Again - this were merely a sketch, and I am no Sushi.

    Death - A discussion

Heres a fun and ridiculous idea. How about every point in Dead loyalty reduces the Dead players regen timer by 1 minute. Since theres only 1440 minutes in a day, it isnt completely out of the question that a dedicated Dead player could reach 1440 loyalty and bring their regen timer down to 1 second. At that point, even the tiny and seemingly insignificant amount of AP the Dead get off said timer resetting would allow them to traverse the land and enjoy MD as they see fit. Death wouldnt be a player controlled jail at that point, some grit and determination would turn Death into just another way to play MD. Different rules, different perspective, same old world we love.

    Death - A discussion

More death anchors and ability to get between them on occasion while dead. That way players aren't shut out from playing MagicDuel, considering that interaction with other players is a key part of the gameplay, rather they have various limitations on doing so. I'd argue that alone would fix about half of the issue of being dead which is being stuck in the graveyard the whole time. Currently very few players are able to kill other players so retaliation is almost a moot point. Revival items are also very rare and in some senses more costly than the kill items. If you revive a player you risk someone killing you and having no protection for yourself. If you are killed you may have to pay for a revival, just to be killed again. The killer is gaining in whatever their motive to kill was in the first place so the kills usually pay for themselves. I've thought about this one for a long time now and besides the new death anchor feature the only thing I could think of to make this better is to actually increase the availability of kill and revival items. A tangent on grave wreathes: I understand kill and revival tools being exclusive and not giving just everyone them, but we already have independent harvesting tools alongside public tools and the independent ones are mostly for convenience, kill/revival tools can be used in a similar way. I'm proposing making a "shared tool" equivalent of kill and revival methods, very similar to what the grave wreathes provide now but in more abundance. If these tools need to be worked towards through significant resource usage or similar effort then it can provide a counterbalance to the independent kill/revival methods in that no single tool can create a monopoly of power. This will allow those who don't have tools to be able to fight fire with fire against killers as well as help provide more revival methods that can't be shut down by any single countermeasure, such as depletion of the realms herbs. This would also allow more free usage of these mechanics as a whole instead of it just being an offhand thing we have to deal with every few months, it will be a legitimate gameplay mechanic we can always be on our toes about.

Mindpower 6 - Whats the plans?

Just a quick idea: Change how the mp6 adept count is done, make it so you only have to meet the adept count to become and stay mp6 allowing you to drop below the 15 adepts and stay as mp6. What will cause you to lose mp6 status is if someone else from your land reaches 15 adepts as well as passes you in number of adepts, thus allowing only one mp6 for each land determined by who has the most adepts. *slight correction: you will need both 15 adepts and to be the highest adept count in your land to become mp6

    The Economy - Resources

"I dream of an industry" I use this phrase a lot, its a great phrase I think no one(?) first popularized here. Lots of people ask me when we are going to have more metalworking after I created the ingots and sandy things after creating fine sand. The honest answer is, not soon. But I do have a rather nice metalworking tree already drawn out (on paper!) with ideas from Mag many months ago. Before we can add many many more resources (which we will) we need to work out what they are going to be used for. There can be no more resources added until we have a good plan of getting rid of them. There must be an end goal and part of that is consumables. So I guess the answer is, when do we get consumables? This is one of the first points I plan to address, in combination with the job titles once MD is technically up to scratch. This is really really important to me, I have spoken with MaGoHi at length after he produced a very detailed idea of how we could have a web of resources and their uses and its amazing. If you have ideas for consumables, or have opinions on this, you are welcome to give them here. This isnt me saying that it will be done soon, but know it is important.

    The Economy - Resources

After reading this topic and Job titles I once again reach the conclusion that the current stack system needs to be altered, especially with the planned Job/title system, now i fully understand that thats unwanted by many, but i think to improve the apparently intended/wanted trading of ressources between people with jobs and their guilds, the stack system needs some sort of rework, here again (think i saw these ideas somewhere on the forum) some ideas below. 1. Some sort of Tradepost/Shop that would allow you to go there and trade x amount of X and y amount of Y with each other to avoid abuse, offers could only be active for 5-10 min so nobody could place their stack there and missuse it as some sort of bank to collect smaller amounts meanwhile make offers non retractable, so people would think twice before placing one 2. Adjust the Stack system to a "stack of stacks" system, similar to how bushies work atm ( i think they still work that way), where the top of the stacks has 1 to 3 bushies, before reaching the next stack instance, this could be for example a random amount between 1 and 25, that would even add some weird unlogical system MD likes to have so much, so you never know how much you will actually trade xD 3. (yeah you guessed it) get rid of the stack system completely In any case i think that to "save" or maybe rather start the economy we need to make trade more attractive and no matter how i look at the stack system, it IS outdated or at least not suitable in the way it exists to support an economy in the way it is planned/wanted

    Death - A discussion

The main problems with death seems to be the feeling of helplessness that comes along with it. While there are multiple ways to be resurrected, unless you own your own revive item you will be dependent on others to bring you back to life. Meanwhile there is nothing much one can do while dead. I know Azull is working on some things to make death more interesting/allow people to revive on their own, but from what I understood Gateway has priority. This problem is only aggravated by the way death works. You are bound to a remote corner on the map, so it is unlikely you will run into many random passer by's, people can't PM you unless they have you on your friends list or you send them a PM first, the mood panel is prohibitively expensive as you gain only one AP per day, your movement is extremely limited and even if you move you'll probably be send back within half an hour. Most of them minor nuisance on their own, but they add up to an almost complete isolation within the game, forcing the player to take things almost completely to the forums. For example a Death anchor at the GoE would already make it a lot easier for the dead to make contact with the living (and it makes sense, as the dead have been brought there to plea for their case since times immemorial). Furthermore I'd love to see the AP cost for the mood panel removed as too often something happens I'd love to comment on, but which doesn't really warrant a forum post, yet am unable to because of AP. As for killing, there should always be a way to prevent being killed. Sanctuaries should be absolutely safe, and even outside those there should be some way to stop the killer, even if it takes some effort. More than once I've heard the dead say something along the lines of "it doesn't atter, because I'll be killed again anyway."
