Back in Year 4, the seeds sprouted into the East gate. Roughly four months later, Elthen Airis, one of the first inhabitants of the Tribunal lands, had settled in the Sunny Bedroom to start working on his private detective cases. Back then, one could only walk up to the Temple, with the rest of the locations being revealed later on the occasion of the 6th Birthday. This lack of other similar scenes at that point might help us understand why he picked that exact place instead of some other room. Elthen Airis, Private Detective Shortly thereafter, in the beginning of Year 5, The Sunny Bedroom was made private as a reaction to a sequence of controversial events, and Elthen was assigned to become its first key holder. Interestingly, the Sunny Bedroom key was the first usable inventory item in the realm. Elthen’s role did not last long, though, for the other realm summoned him and his absence called for a new keeper. People suggested potential candidates and those names were put to a vote. After a very close election, Miq was chosen to become the next key holder or Concierge, a title/tag that he would help popularize throughout his almost 5 years of service. As a reward for his hard work, he has earned the send to checkers hall spell. Miq the Concierge After a long period of performing his duties as Concierge while also working on other roles, Miq decided to step down and set up another election for the next keeper. This time, MRF was voted to receive the official items and spell. It is worth noting that, during the election, an update made it so that earfocus and acousticremains would no longer work inside the Sunny Bedroom. MRF At some point, MRF decided to focus on other activities and handed the role to Syrian, the current key holder. As a realm-shaper, she’s been in charge of making interesting upgrades to the Sunny Bedroom. In addition, the Sunny Bedroom has recently been the first scene to have its privacy enhanced by the new Protected Chat setting. Syrian This brings us to the present. The Sunny Bedroom has been the first “unique feature” of the Tribunal and it certainly plays an important role in the history of the East. One cannot help but wonder what kind of secrets have been shared in this mysterious room during all these years.

    A rite of passage

2 December 2019, Samon passed on. Samon has always been a reflection of myself, he was myself. However as time went on the part of me he reflects became weaker and weaker. Samon has been death within the realm of MD for several years and with good reason. I won't go into details as to how and why, but over the last week things happened that made me realize Samon is no more. This passage is not a sad occurrence, I'd even say it's a rather happy one. Even if I haven't been very active, MD has been a major part of my life. Therefore I feel like I can't move on without tying things up here. I might be on Samon a few more times during the coming weeks, but as nothing more than a shadow of the past. After that I'll probably leave MD for some time, but I do plan on returning at some point in a new shape. To all who knew me, fare well, and I hope we'll meet again in the next life. Now excuse me, I have to go to a meeting with Marind.

    Grand Duke of the East

On Day 95, Year 15, at Sage's Keep, @Chewett was made Grand Duke of the Lands of the East and King of Marind Bell. This is the first time someone in the realm is elected to rule two lands at the same time. An official minute of the event is located at the following topic: Following the unprecedented ceremony, the Demon of the East has recognized Chewett's rulership over the Tribunal part of the Lands of the East as seen in Announcement 4963. This also marks the first time kingship tools are made available for the Lands of the East. Prior to this election, the East had seen a couple of (somewhat unsuccessful) claims to power from Granos to Eon and Shadowseeker, then Sunfire and finally Pipstickz. Chewett went a different route, though: he met directly with all interested parties and managed to gather their support. It was a very clever move in terms of strategy and timing. Interestingly enough, the concept of a Dukedom in the East was proposed before by Pipstickz, but his idea did not gain enough traction at the time. With all this happening only a few days prior to the very anticipated 15th Anniversary, it almost looks as if the birthday is already happening. I look forward to seeing (and documenting) the changes that this new dual rulership shall bring to our realm.

    Citizenship Accepted!!!

Hello everyone! I am so incredibly excited to be considered part of Marind Bell! It is the land I by far spent the most time in before my slumber. Before land loyalty was a thing. I have always felt more at home at MBthan elsewhere. I love that MB is such an open land yet shows just the surface of all of its many secrets to any who enter. I believe that membership in MB means an obligation to seek knowledge and provide assistance to new players, after all, that is why our threshold has visible gates. I am truly excited to continue my story in MB, to continue my research and to learn more of this realm. Thabk you for having the faith and trust in me to vote for me! steno

Highly experienced in countless battles, Cyrus Siridius was revered by those who learned from him, students and teachers alike. His mastery of the blade wielding saved countless innocent lives from the hands of his foes. Cyrus also had a remarkable gift of teaching those who needs to learn the ways of a true champion. Fierce, agile and tactical, he applies his skills to defend his homeland, its people and most of all his family. Beneath his now-unused armor stood a compassionate gentleman; a King in his own right, a Warrior of life, and a Lover of his people. May he rest in peace. Over the years, in MD, many people learned things that eventually changed their life. In 15 years of MagicDuel, this is probably the most valuable thing thing one could obtain, along with lifetime friends. I want to revive this "MD spirit" So...what is this about? Let me try to explain it People can be divided in two categories, and all people belong to both so how is this ? Each one of us has questions but also answers. In your line of work, you might be paid with 100Eur/hour or 2Eur/hour, its still an hour of your life. There are many young people that might spend years of their life searching for something they love to do, or discover that something in the most unexpected place. Myself, i teached things i knew to md people, sometimes "pro-bono" other times because i needed them to do things, but either way, in the end, they learned something new. I wish to introduce a new value unit, lets call it "lecture coins". One lecture coin equals one hour of your life sharing knowledge from your line of work, regardless what your work is. You might be a good programmer, or a doctor (and yes we have several in md), or you might be simply a delivery guy thinking you have nothing valuable to share. One lecture coin equals one hours of your life, and in that hour you must share your knowledge from your field of work, as best as you can, as if your life depended on it. The person "listening" and learning from you, will discover the tips and tricks of your particular line of work, and might love it, or might just expand his knowledge about it for other use, regardless, that person, the pupil, will pay you one lecture coin for that hour of your life. With that coin you can "buy" time from someone else, equal also one hour of their time, sharing detailed and valuable info from their own knowledge. You might think...some peoples time values more than others, and thats true...but knowledge is knowledge, and if you are looking for it, its valuable, regardles how much it costs as monetary value its still an HOUR of someones life. The rules are these: For one full hour, you will try to answer any question, but also provide unrequested info from your personal expertise, as if you would have to teach someone to do your job the next day. You will put all possible effort into this, during that hour, and that person will rate you at the end, telling if you provided info that was valuable, or not. In exchange, you receive a lecture coin, that you will be able to use for same purpose yourself. Also, you will have a "menu" presenting all possible knowledge fields you could cover, regardless how stupid or valuable they might be. You could be a SEO expert or lawyer, asking for 600$/hour, or a pizza guy that could share tips and tricks about how to do that job better, its equal value. Think that you might change lives forever, losing just an hour or two of your life, you might make someone a better person, or earn a lifetime friend. I will be the first to donate time of my life to this. I will sponsor lecture coins to anyone that wishes to participate, and get people that want to listen to what they have to say, for one hour, and these lecture coins are payment i will accept for my own time, sharing information the best i can, from any field i might have something to say about. As example, i will show you my menu, for anyone interested: My current "Menu" is this: - Learning programming in general - Tips and tricks about webdevelopment and webdev tips and tricks accumlated over years, not easy to find online - How to start to learn python (:D i am new to it too, but i will share an hour with you, guiding you through the best and most time saving info i can) - Any question you could ask a webdeveloper with 20years experience paid with 50$/h, i will consider you paid me 50$ and act accordingly, but will do only knowlede sharing, not work in your place. - neural networks, robotics, and anything related i might know - a random choice of art related activity i will pick, that you could replicate - Anything else i might know and you know how to ask, to the best of my ability - a mix of all of the above, trying to the best of my ability to find something that interests you personally. I will consider you pay me double my hourly rate, only if you are satisfied in the end, even if its all for free. - psychological adice and personal experience share of how to overcome addictions (why not, i've become an expert from my own experience and from others) - cooking lessons of my favorite food adapted to your resources I will start sharing 3 hours of my life to either individuals, or groups, and expect other professionals out there to contribute the same way. Do you want to participate and learn new stuff. Either participate as a student or as a teacher. Thats it.. i hope this initiative resonates with you, because i think MD is about knowing people and learning from them, so if you are here, lets get organized Overall i plan to put in motion 100 lecture coins, that will circulate in exchange of hours of your knowldge. 100 should be more than enough, but i will start with sponsoring you if you offer to share hours, or learn, and with hours of my time, each valuing one symbolic coin. These coins will be also given as items in your md inventory, and medals will come for those that gather most. My time is very limited so i will select the people i wish to dedicate time to, but just ask...or offer. Thats all.

    The Power of Emails

Hello MD community! It has truly been along time! I had dwelled among you about a dozen years ago and played consistently for at least half a year. I even managed to try to do a promotional thingy for MD where I managed the game's ratings on other sites (and tried to get us hosted on others as well). I had a lot of fun, well I never beat BigC, but I did have a lot of fun. Then... my computer broke and I couldn't get a new one for 6 months, which led me to stop being a part of this community. I am so glad that I was summoned back through electronic communication. Apparently the spell that Mur cast, called MagicDuels was not through with me yet. Nor was I through with it. May both MD and myself keep growing!

    I AM HUNGRY (again)

Due to lack of skills and even less experience I chose something simple yet delicious - pieczonki 🥰 Ingredients: couple carrots twice as many potatoes one beetroot 3 onions couple sausages solid piece of bacon bit of lard (optional) salt & pepper cabbage leaves (optional) Step 1 Chop and cut everything into thin slices. Step 2 Note: I'm using here iron cast pot due to special cooking method, but plain heat resistant pot and oven are just fine Now place ingredients into pot in following layers. First potatoes, onions, beets, bacon & sausages, salt & pepper and optionally small piece of lard (usually when lean meat used). Afterwards repeat until either you don't have enough ingredients or enough place in pot 😅 Step 3 Once you finished with stacking layers put on top cabbage leafs (just under pot cover) or thin aluminum foil, and cover everything up. My pot has screws because you know MAG is hungry so more layers = better😂 Step 4 Rather simple step prepare heat source - either oven (180 degrees C) or plain bonfire. Trick here is to put pot on embers(?) not open fire. Usually it takes 1:15 hours to cook, but believe me you'll smell when they're ready 🤩 Step 5 - hardest one Wait until ready Step 6 Once taken out of the oven or bonfire, mix contents thoroughly. Step 7 Enjoy! Smacznego

    Map Identity Problem

This is an incredible feature worthy of being placed in the wish shop, but it has its own issues, in particular, the crowded places problem. I've observed this during Chewett's cake party and Steno's April Fool's event. If there are few people in one spot (1-3 players) it looks fine, but more than that, they just cover each other. Mur's solution to this was to increase the intervals between the colored dots that represents the players, but it creates another problem where one can't actually point out where that player is. I may have a solution for this, it follows the same mechanics, only this time, if there are two (or three) or more players in a location, say the GoE, it will become a shaded place on a map (I used orange because, well, Mur) the more people there are, the bigger this shade will become. An example image: GoE at this point will have several players on it, hence the size, while MDP will have fewer than four or so. Now, when you hover the cursor over the shaded section, it will display the coordinates along with the playernames who are presently in that location. See below: This is just a mockup, the shade color can be changed, the colored dots can even be beside the playernames in the box to distinguish what Mindpower they belong to. This will be easier for those who purchased this feature and can be very useful for a plethora of different things, or if you exhaust your locate spell, too. Let me know what you think.

A New Room has been found in Sage's Keep

Alright! Winner's are announced! In 3rd place we have... Ailith! She wins an anniversary crit! In 2nd place we have... Tissy! He wins an anniversary crit + 2 random RP items from my inventory. In 1st place we have... Lazarus! He wins a WP+1 unique item+1 anniversary creature! Congratulations to all our contestants (Tissy, Ailith, Ungod, lashtal, Aia, Chewett, MRF, and Lazarus)! You can see their efforts below! P.S. I have learned from this quest that whenever artworks or anything creative be submitted to ask people to refrain from putting their names on their submissions to make judging easier 😜 P.P.S. Chew, I might need more forum storage space again XD

So, the anniversary is over, but a new wave of plushies is descending on the realm. As you may have noticed, Cyrus Siridius has been caught trespassing Necrovion and met a premature end. Who is this fellow? What do we know about him? This is what a very accurate autopsy revealed: You have one week (deadline: May 11 23.59 server time) to draw an avatar for Cyrus Siridius. Quoting Aia, the drawing should be in black and white (no colours). Ideally, the proportions should be scalable to an Avatar (which, when scaled down, is 160 pixels high and 100 pixels wide) - however, the artwork should be much larger than this, so that it can be scaled down. The best one, based on forum reputation, wins my entire collection of plushies + 13 silver coins (courtesy of TKs) + a little something else. In case of a tie, the player with lower Mind Power wins. Should this criteria fail to name a winner, the lower Mind Power with lower number of plushies wins. Cyrus Siridius is welcome to participate in the voting, and his vote will count x 10. (Ideally, he gets to keep the avatar, in case avatar managers agree)
  31. 6 points
I would like to thank all the participants. No doubt you all put some serious effort in this, you are awesome! Based on reputation, the best submission is signed by Lazarus (I love it too, but decided against voting any). He gets my entire collection of plushies, 13 silver coins + my autograph (usable for a 1 week pass in Necrovion). But I don't want to forget the others: Ungod, Steno and Ailith all get a 1 week pass in Necrovion at the special price of a creature sacrifice (it can be any creature, even 0 heat, and it has to be sacrificed at the Eternal Toiler). My only regret is, despite several messages to Cyrus Siridius (in game and here), I got no answer from him... Perhaps Mur / Chew could e-mail him something like 'dude, you got killed but you won a freaking awesome avatar! check it out!" Anyway, well done all of you! 🙃

Suspended Grasan stuff you need (edible): Grasan chops with bones (bones are important) Unidentified plants Rock salt Water stuff you need (tools): Heat large spoon functionality thing Pot another pot or vessel half the size of the original pot cloth (or any other filtration device) Start: Wash your filthy grasan parts and put them in the pot. Add water so it covers the parts. Start heat (slow) and wait for foam to build up. Then remove the foam with the spoonish thing and keep doing it until no more foam. Move the parts also. Foam cleaned up? Add the Plants and rock salt. Leave for 6-8 hours shimmering under a lid. Take pictures of the awesomeness. Done drooling? Now remove what meat you can and lay it aside to cool. Pour the remainder of the pot trough the cloth into another vessel. Scavenge the internals of the cloth for any meat and but that to cool also. Pour the filtered liquid back to original pot (filtering it once more!). Leave the pot on low heat. When meat has cooled so a man can touch it remove all bones and rip the meat to small pieces (including the skin, lard, venisons ). Put the boneless herbless meat back to the liquid. Have wife lick the bones. Heat alittle and stir well. Move the mixture into what ever container you like (the filtering vessel would suffice but maybe use smaller and in multible) Wait for it to thaw, store in cool. Serve with solid stuff like mustard, horseradish, vinegar. Wife eats it.

I don't know I would finish this quest. But a flash idea happened to strike me to finish this: Noodle of Dark MaGoHi The ingredients are all sweet, sore and crunchy. It's the main flavor of the dish. Usually it's eaten with ice cubes and A LOT of peppers. So it's super chili while super cold, just like MaGoHi. 1. Preparation: - noodle made from black wheat (buckwheat, it's dark). soak it in water. - chopped lettuce, sliced cucumber and tomato, an duck egg. - chili oil. we use it very often. Just pour the hot oil to smashed peppers. mix the oil with sauce made from vinegar, sugar and a little soy sauce. - I planned to put some slices of apple, pear and beef. But they were ran out of stock. 2. Cook: - put the noodle into boiled water for just 1 min. not too long or it would be too soft. 3. Finalize: - put the noodle into cold water several times. - mix the noodle with sauce and vegetable. cut the egg into 2 halves and put them into a MaGoHi shape. - now you could add some ice, pepper or raisin, whatever you like to make it better looking and more flavor.

Pre-heat the cremation chamber to 400 F and prepare a baking tray by lining it with foil. Doing this preparation will save you time instead of going back and forth. Also, clean as you go and it will make your life easier than the previous LHO's who just wanted to help out people. Procedure: I After you've prepared the ingredients, start off with cutting 6 slits across every Winderwild breasts but not too deep, not too shallow either, just enough so you can put filling in them. After that, season with ground salt and freshly ground black LR pepper. II After that, get a nice medium-sized container to mix the herbs, half of shredded resin cheese, bushies heart, Grasan cream cheese, ground rock salt and black LR pepper, and a pinch from hell of dried spicy pickle. Grasan cream cheese should be softened first, that means that you should probably have it mashed first because the other ingredients will stick to it and you will have a hard time mixing them all together, I dunno, depends on where you buy the cream cheese. I recommend getting it from Arnold, the guy in Willow's Shop, they're usually mix-ready) Be filthy and use your hands. III Stuff this catastrophe into the Winderwild breasts slits - fondle that mother and use your fingers filthyly, alternating it with bacon for each slits. Like dis: Beautiful! Now sprinkle the remaining half of the shredded resin cheese on top of these breasts. IV Excellent. By this time, your crematorium is probably smoking already, time to put this dish in it and cremate! V Get your cup of Pub whiskey and sip. Just because. VI After about 30-35 minutes, take them out. Make sure it's cooked through, we don't want you to get infected with Salmonella, we're not done with Covid yet so check. A good rule of thumb is if it's cooked. VII Enjoy and have fun with your newfound knowledge about everything in the Universe.

Aia said that I could submit another one. I drew this one for Tyche because I was really inspired by her role-playing. Hopefully she likes it. Also, for something that took 10 minutes, it looks about 300 times better than the one I spent over an hour on. (Also it feels more like MD style-though I still can't get toes down, that's why this was easier, no part was human except the toes) XP To Tyche-I'm sorry if you don't like the parts I included, I thought the umbrella and the thing speaking from your pocket were on-theme. The dice were because I wanted to make an allusion to the another of your name-the Greek goddess. If you don't like it and want me to take it down, then PM me and I'll do so.

    MagicDuel-Histories and Legends

So... I was thinking, since there are a lot of older accounts being reactivated (so much so that Mur had to make an announcement about ancient powers, lol) that a LOT has happened in the realm of MagicDuel. As some of the ads for the game even proclaim: "We never reset"! I don't know very much about what has happened in the twelve years that I've been gone. The Adventure Log is pretty awesome, but it is a lot. I think this would be really handy for old-new players as well as brand new players! The accessibility of lore helps immerse new players. So I wanted to propose a contest, as MD seems to have quite a few authors. Pick one of your favorite events in the history of MD that you witnessed. Try to write a short story-a cliff notes version of what happened if you will-of that event. I am unsure what the reward of this contest will be. I will likely give the winner a silver coin as well whatever else I can cobble together. The contest will end 3/13/20. The winner will be decided by me and a mystery judge. Try to keep the versions of the stories clean, obviously. Also try to keep secrets out of stories, unless they are imperative for the tale being told. The winner will receive a creature of the 14th anniversary as awarded by Aia!

Day 11 - Marind Bell and friends

This is entitled "The last walk, beneath the amber glow." It represents the last memory that Aia has of Tarquinus; strolling past the Willow at Willow's Walk, before Aia left to return to the other-realm. One can just observe two figures on a picnic-mat beneath the Willow; overhead, the moon's amber glow upon the water's edge. Details are missing in this, because memory fades, and all that is left is a feeling of knowing happiness; this does not fade as the memory does; like so many memories in this realm, most will be forgotten, but even so, they persist, as points of happiness in the minds of those who were there.
